There is a promotion to buy 65 dollars or over to get a free hoodie, then i start to look staff like figures and mouse-pad to add up to 68$, after i fill out my mailing address which is Canada, and the price come out like doubled my original price, shipping money is 20$ (this is just crazy) and the Tax&duty is 33$(and I have idea what it is), Which is 53$ extra!!! I am only buying 68$, but I need to pay 121$!!!!
$33 tax does seem a bit much, there's no taxrate anywhere that high.
Shipping, eh.
I really dislike the merch shop, such an awesome idea, but for people like you and me (I live in Hawaii mind you still in the US) it's just too expensive to get anything and even when there are deals it's just not worth it.
I don't get why they can't offer free shipping if you order within a certain dollar amount like most online stores or at the very least drop it to a $5 maximum for shopping and handling. I'm not sure why they feel like $20 to ship something as small as a figure or shirt is worth that much but it's crazy. Especially when you would think if shipping is that high then you expect it to be there sooner. Nope the first (and last time I guess) I've used the merch store I didn't get my item till about a month after ordering it.
It's sucks because I would buy so much more stuff if shipping was just a little by cheaper or free, every other store does stuff like that so I don't see why Riot feels the need to charge so much. Then to not only charge as much as they do, but also take their time shipping the item. Which don't get me wrong is nice that they care about the detail of the items, but a month after is wrong.
But for me I just buy my stuff second hand usually eBay. I just got the second series URF figure for about 30$ so in my eyes I got a deal since it would have been about $40-50 had I bought it from their actual store.
