Hi I've been permabanned and I don't think I deserve it, Lyte smite me if you want.

So I've been playing in a lot of premade normal with my friends recently and I've been joking around with them and I've been bming a lot in all chat. Today I logged into my account and I received a message that I've been permbanned, I was very surprised to see this as I don't think my behaviour was bad enough to be banned like this. I have never before been chat restricted or ranked restricted, this ban seemed out of the blue and I have no idea why. I've never wished death on someone nor have I insulted someone's religion or whatnot. I just want some clarification on this, I don't think I've been toxic enough to deserve a perma ban, I'd be fine with a chat restriction if that's what it took to get my account back with all the things that I've bought on it. I love this game a lot and it's the only game that I play, I've sent a ticket in and I'm hoping Riot will look at it. And yes I've said gg ez before at the end of games, but is that perma ban worthy, I'm willing to change. I know that my chat was toxic, that's not what I'm talking about. I have never been chat restricted before much less banned and then all of a sudden I am permabanned with no chance to rreform.I read lyte's answer on chat fm or somehting about permabans and I should not be permabanned unless I wish death or something like that on someone.

Wow, that level of toxicity is completely warrants a permaban. That's the kind of talk that makes people quit league. I'm only shocked that it didn't happen sooner if you consider that ok.

Not going to lie... Those chat logs are among the most toxic I've seen in a while. Granted I don't lurk the boards on a daily basis.

I can say that if it were up to me personally. I'd give you a strong punishment of a 2 week ban and a boatload of chat restrictions instead of an outright permaban based off this chat log alone, but I'm not in control of that.

I do have a few of questions for you though if you don't mind?

  1. At what point did you think that typing this filth was an 'ok' thing to do?
  2. Do you think the amount of normal games you played with your friends is what primarily influenced this behavior? And do they behave the same?
  3. Did you act like this while in a party with your friends towards the enemies? If so, did you feel like it was wrong or feel that it was safe because your friends wouldn't report you?
  4. Do you really think that a warning is necessary instead of using common sense to know what you're doing is wrong?

Ok so a lot of people have been under the impression that I don't think I'm toxic, I am, I know that. What I'm really trying to say is that I understand that I acted stupidly and I really want to be able to reform and change my behaviour, but I am not given a chance to do that since I was straight up permabanned without ever in my entire life been banned or restricted. I am completely fine with taking any form of punishment other than a perma ban, I'm toxic and I would deserve it. It's just that not only do I not have the free time to start another account from scratch but I have progressed too far and spent too much money on this account that I cannot justify making another account. So tldr I guess is I know that I'm toxic and that I deserve some sort of punishment, but I would honestly completely reform If I had been given a chance to and cannot justify making another account since I've spent so much time and money on this one. Had I just been chat restricted I would've 100% changed how I acted but I was just permabanned right from the start.

I don't think a warning was needed here if you knew that what you were doing was toxic and you continued to do it anyway.

It's like in real life if you murder someone without ever having a criminal record. You're going to go to prison for life anyway and are you really going to look at the police when they find you and say "If I had just had a warning, then I would not have killed him/her"?

People need to stop equating saying nasty words at someone for 30-40 minutes in chat to murder. They're not equivocal in the slightest.

Is this example extreme? Yes, Does this answer get the point across? Yes. I'm not saying (and have never said for that matter) that flaming is the same as murder, i used it as an example.

I didn't take it badly at all don't worry about that, and if people decide to take my example litteraly then there is obviously something wrong with the way i've expressed myself. But the goal of my comment was to show how stupid the excuse was, and i thought that by using such a rediculous example, it would show in contrast. Sorry for my bad expression.

This is all mundane shit. A time-ban would be reasonable for this as well as a 15-20 game Allchat restriction. A permaban though, that's a bit much, IMO. Especially if this is your first punishment of the nature. I strongly suggest reconsideration on Riot's behalf, as I've seen far worse than this go completely unpunished.

You're nonstop rankbashing people, calling them bad and Bronze scrubs and saying they are terrible at the game, that they are playing braindead champions, and repeatedly saying "EZ".

This isn't Call of Duty (willing to bet you're that 12 year old who screams in voice chat) where someone who is sick of this kind of shit just leaves the match and finds another game. Each player is locked in the game for 20 minutes at the least (often much longer because we all know how no one ever surrenders even when they have multiple ragers on their own team) and falling further and further behind in a game already feels bad enough, they shouldn't have to put up with some asshole calling out their KD and saying they play like Bronze trash etc.

I don't think any player should get a permaban on their first suspension, but I highly doubt that this is the only game where you have been like this, and if it was black and white where either you get to run free or be completely removed from the community, I would say Riot made the right choice.

And before you tell me to get off my high horse, just know that I am a reformed player and have had my account suspended twice.

What I want is some reasoning as to why I was immediately permabanned, I have never been banned nor chat restricted ever before and I find it really unfair that I've been permabanned right away. I am completely willing to reform but how can I when I am never even given a chance?

Want to change your actions that bad and keep playing? Then make a new account, this is how it should be people need to learn that they can't just be assholes and get a slap on the wrist.

The community right now is pretty screwed up, people are mean to each other all the time over nothing and it's just insane.

I guarantee this wasn't a first offence. Rather, this was merely the first case. Except in extremely specific situations (hate speech, death threats, and the like), cases aren't built from single games.

Obviously. There are two fortunate things here, however.

First: I didn't issue the punishment, so my knowledge of the case is unnecessary. The body that did issue the punishment - Riot - has much more complete knowledge.

Second: The system doesn't issue bans for single-game offenses, except (as I pointed out) for extremely specific situations, such as hate speech, death threats, and the like. Since no such behaviors are shown in the logs, there must be additional games. This is not an assumption about how the system works - it's knowledge about how the system works.

Regardless, a timed ban for a first punishment should always be warranted, barring a few exceptions, such as serious death-threats. That's my opinion, anyway.

I don't disagree. However - and this is my larger point - what that means is that there's almost certainly something we don't know.

Perhaps those behaviors are extant further back in his reported history. Perhaps he has been punished before, and is simply lying. Regardless of the reason, the simple fact is, we don't know the full story. Riot, however, does.

That's not to say I trust that this was definitely warranted. It means that, in general, I trust that they follow their policies. There have been mistakes before. This may be one of them. But they're extremely rare. Which means it's far more likely that there's just something to the story that we don't know, or aren't being told.

I can assure you 100% that this is my first ever punishment and this chat log is the worst that I've ever said. Everyone has bad games, but I'm not just saying this to use it as an excuse, I acted childishly and really regret what I said, it's just that I wish they had just given me a timed ban so that I could actually look back at what I said and reform.

But I am saying that there is information I don't have. Maybe you don't have it, either.

If you genuinely believe that this was in error, your best bet is to submit a Support Ticket. You might also try posting an @Lyte message on Reddit or Twitter about it. But perma-bans are pretty seriously reviewed, and only very rarely overturned.

It might also help demonstrate your point here if, instead of an image, you posted the Reform Card link from the email. You can get that by clicking where it says "View on the Web" above the picture of Kayle. It's more objective data than an image, and less likely to lead to assumptions of tampering.

Mind, I'm not saying that you have to post the link to be believed - only that it's a more objective/neutral piece of data, since the link originates from Riot, rather than from you.

you knew the rules ahead of time, it's your own fault for breaking said rules, first time offender or not.

Going to the extreme here but if you kill someone for the first time, knowing it's wrong, you don't get a warning about prison on your first murder charge.

Just sayin.

I'm sorry but doing this even one time can really destroy the game for anyone who's the target. I suck a league and I'm a level 20. Pretty sad, right? But I'm always trying to get better. But when I see things like this targeted at me (which I have MANY times), I don't want to play. I hope what you say is true and that you want to change. But there's no excuse for doing this in the first place :/

Personally I think this system is utter garbage anyway. I mean, when I asked for logs of my last chat restriction(150 games) I were sent 20 positive/neutral lines and one "cancer" in the middle of them.

Wow, I've said a lot worse and have only been chat restricted. If you get permbanned you've probably been banned before and have actually received restrictions before.

No I can guarantee you that this is my first ban/restriction, that's why I'm sending a ticket, if I had been banned before then this permaban would be completely warranted. I've seen worse as well, but they've only been restricted or even not punished at all.
