How do you unlock keys?

I Go Pew Pew Pew··1 votes·539 views

I've played a lot of matches since I've unlocked hextech crafting. I've already earned two chests by doing well in games. But, I have yet to earn a key fragment. So how does one earn those? I thought it was just by playing...

You must win a game to get keys. They are not guaranteed to drop as they have a percent chance to drop. And as yo earn more the lower that chance becomes.

Also if you play with friends this chance increases.

Keys, perhaps unsurprisingly, open chests. Key fragments will sometimes drop after victory in any matchmade game mode--unlike chests, you can earn keys in ARAM or Twisted Treeline. Three key fragments can be forged into a single key; you can also purchase keys through the store for RP. Key fragments drop a little more frequently when you play with friends!

Ok thank you. I did not know that you had to win the game to get them! I do not win very frequently lmfao.
