Team Builder isn't about "Building Teams", It's about providing player choice

So I would like to discuss the logic behind why Team Builder is being removed for New Champ Select. I already made a post on the news page, but fear that it may be lost to the rage and confusion, I wanted to start one people had to look for.

I 100% agree that New Champ Select is a faster and better team building experience than Team Builder. My argument is that Team Builder serves the game not as a team building mode, but the only mode that provides true player choice. It should be kept in until the improved Blind Pick mode is introduced and implemented.

I don't agree with removing Team Builder at all, but especially not before the blind pick replacement is ready.

First, New Champ Select is amazing! If you aren't familiar with it, check it out. However, New Champ Select fixes the issues of Draft, which is a competitive team mode. Team Builder offers something completely different.

Team builder is the mode where you can get the most out of your time investment, guaranteed. If you want to play something specific, for whatever reason, Team Builder is the best option by design. Queue times are longer because of this, but this is known as a quality of life option for players.

I could spend around 90 min total waiting in queue and finishing one game in Team Builder. With New Champ Select I would probably get two games in that time, but what if I didn't get to play what I want?

It's entirely possible, since I have to pick two roles and my champ isn't a guaranteed pick. My 90 min time investment went towards other players getting what they wanted at a shorter queue time.

Team Builder, despite it's name, isn't about building a team. It's about playing what you want on your time.
