Was Vi coming across as gay intentional? Because, well.....

I didn't play Vi much on release, but started getting into her more once I realized she's a strong jungler. And it really hit me - considering her quotes and attitude, she seems like a MASSIVE lesbian. If you haven't noticed, well, you probably haven't played Vi. As one of the maybe 0.00001% of the community that are lesbians in this game, that kind of makes me happy, intentional or not.

So I have to ask... Is this new champ her spurned lover or what? XD

I've been around homosexuals my entire life (Dad's gay and had a lot of homosexual/lesbian friends) so this is just how I personally see Vi. Then again, this is basically open to interpetation.

To me, Vi doesn't have a gender preference. Why? Because she doesn't care. The very nature of love and attraction is something she enjoys. She likes "real" people and is more interested in persons she finds to be interesting. Caitlyn is one of those people Vi felt both kinship to and for. She likes Caitlyn's attitude and being able to toy with her on both a serious and jovial level.

Likewise, Vi probably despises Jayce. Sure, he's "attractive" in the conventional sense but he's just so...fake. Perfect jaw. Hair. Teeth. Etc. Vi probably has zero interest in such a stereotypical ken doll of a person. That's not to say she wouldn't date a man, it's just to say that she would have to be interested in him on a level beyond purely physical.

Not sure if Caitlyn would approve of a polyamorous style of relationship or if she'd just be a one-on-one type of relationship person, but I'm personally convinced Vi is both polyamorous and bi-sexual or, as she would say, "Vi-sexual."

Vi loves the idea of love. Not gender, not looks, just love.

I don't know of anything intentional, but her persona is very butch. I wouldn't go so far to say that makes her a lesbian, though. Gay or not, she is a massive badass and that's why I love her.

New champion is not her spurned lover because... it's highly likely it's her sister. Though that hasn't stopped the shippers before...

Being a badass girl doesn't make you a lesbian o.o

Look at Lilith from Borderlands. That's who Vi reminds me of.

Whatever the truth is, I think we can all agree she kicks ass.

Uh. Champions don't have to have expressed sexuality. Please stop trying to conform champions to your own personal needs, and then pushing that onto everyone else. Just play the game.

I personally don't think Vi is a Lesbian, nor Bisexual. Being a badass does not turn a woman into a Lesbian or the such, as being a well mannered and sensitive male does not make him Gay. Tying behavior and sexuality may seem reasonable in most cases, but it is not, at least, not Behavior in it's full extent, because some attitudes could be labeled as "Proper and Usual in Homosexuals" (whether it is accurate or not to do so), but most attitudes are specific to a person.

Thus, tying a general condition (Sexuality) to a specific condition (Behavior) will result, in a lot of cases, in a misjudgement, as most of the criteria used in the making of that judgement is specific to a person and not relatable to his or her Sexuality.

To sum up, Vi is not Lesbian nor Bisexual, at least, not judging by her Behavior. I think she is probably straight, considering she has never shown any particular interest in Caitlyn, aside, of course, of her friendly, ironical banter, but that is a far fetched assumption on my part, and only my particular judgement.

I think you're projecting your own personal vicarious desires a bit too much.

I don't think they stick a champion with a orientation like that, they just look and say "X would go good with Y" and bam!.. or at least that's what I'd hope for....

I don't really see this. You're heavily stereotyping what you think lesbians look/sound like here, and our definitions just don't match up I guess: Vi is one of those "textbook butch lesbians" to many, but really her attitude does not say whatsoever that she prefers females over males.

However, on a personal note: I'd put my money on bisexual. I don't think she'd be confined to either gender.

The new champ is supposed to be her sister...?
