Any Updates for East Coast Players?

IIRC, the last time we heard anything related to the issue was in February. The lack of transparency on the issue is a little disappointing.

I'm starting to feel like you guys don't care enough to talk about it, and are just waving us off like we don't matter.

Is this about the server deal? They stated they were prioritizing increasing the quality of their current servers for East Coast players instead of up and making a separate region. I'll see if I can dig up the link....

But on another note, I'm a VA resident and playing relatively fine. I have the occasional lag spike, but that's confirmed to be an issue with my ISP and not Riot's servers. Of course, this is again assuming you're talking about the servers. If you're talking about the lack of cons and expos that have visiting Rioters that isn't in Atlanta or New York then I completely agree with you, Rito Plz. =D

This is more about the servers. Living on the east coast of Canada means I see a ping of 125-130 ping at all times. I'm used to playing with it, but that doesn't mean people on the east coast aren't at a big disadvantage compared to players on the west coast who get to enjoy lower and more reliable pings.

It just seems a bit weird that the game has seen this much success and still only has servers based mostly on the west coast, where as most other competitive games have proper east and west coast servers in place right from launch.

Ah here it is.

As Mysteryin said, they're more focused on centralizing rather than splitting and it is being actively worked on. While speculation I'll attribute Riot's focus on the west coast to their more humble beginning, the whole thing started as a small project, there may not have been planning that far in advance, they kinda exploded and didn't have much time before they hit the Global scene, and while yes they could placate NA better, just plain getting servers to other regions was probably higher on the to-do list. I know they're just about finished with the Austria (I think?) server complex that should help out a lot of our buds across the pond.

They're supposedly trying to make a central server so NA doesn't have to be split, and it'd be about even ping for both coasts.

That's what most of us are hoping for I think, I'd prefer that over separate servers.
