My scores were obscene , 21 - 1 for example and this is what I get.
The exact same thing happened to me, i was S1 last season i went 8-2 and got placed B2
Because you have very low MMR and you were winning against people whose MMR was even worse.
Look at who you were playing against. Many of your opponents were like an entire below Bronze 5. Going 21-1 is not impressive when it's against someone who would be Bronze 8 or worse if such a rating existed.

Oh man, you certainly deserved Challenger for going 8-2!
You will always be placed beneath where you were last season. Even challenger players are placed back in plat. This is so that you are put in an ELO with a lower average MMR than what you actually have, so you should be getting large amounts of LP per win. That way, those who deserve to climb and can will have an easy time climbing to and beyond where they were.
Once again, you will always be placed beneath your ELO last year.
