Players not buying items??

Throughout quite a few games I've played recently I've noticed that some people haven't been buying anything from the shop through the entire game. They cause feeding for the other team and are making it unfair for their team. Is this some kind of bug or are they trying to troll everyone?

Not sure if it's relevant or not but i also noticed that everyone who has done this has only used the skills Barrier and Cleanse. In an Aram game that makes no sense. I've seen this happen in one classic game and several Aram games. On some occasions it's more than one person.

Bots.

They infest low-elo aram and some SR games, unfortunately there is no specific option to report bots.

So people are making profiles and setting them up to play random games but not buy items? What point is there in that?

Among other reasons, the accounts are sold once they reach certain goals, such as level 30.

The bot programs are not sophisticated enough to buy items, all they can do is move around and occasionally press abilities. Sometimes bot programs are used so people can farm IP while they are sleeping/at work/at school etc. other times the bot programs will eventually get an account to level 30, the account can then be sold to people who don't want to grind 30 levels and would rather go straight to ranked games.

Could be bots. Those tend to use generic builds and perform worse than Bronze V.

They have profiles and all that but they just won't buy anything...

Check your match history and look at player builds for each game. If it's a display bug in game, the details on the website will probably show items.

Even botted accounts have profiles. If you're running into this frequently and it's not a visual bug, you should report them to Riot. The Support link at the top right of this forum is where you can do that. I don't think there's a specific category for reporting accounts, so just open a General ticket with details and they'll forward it to the correct people for investigation.
