Names that haven't played in a bit
I was looking at some names that I really wanted to use and some have not played in months if not years. Is there going to be a name clean up anytime soon?

From what I understand, if the name you want belongs to an account that is lower than level 30, and hasn't been active in a year and a half, you can message riot and ask for it. No promises they'll give it to you, but that's the impression I got when I asked for the summoner name "Lulu". Turns out you can't have champ names, and every champ summoner name is owed by Riot. :P but yeah, if it's another name, and fits the criteria above, send in a ticket!
There is a system in place for this.
For accounts from levels 1-6, there is a 6 month inactivity period before that Summoner name becomes available. For other accounts, they gain 1 extra month for every level above 6 before the Summoner names become available, giving level 30s 2 years and 6 months of inactivity protection.
Also, a little side note, you can only obtain Summoner names from inactive accounts by purchasing a Summoner Name change, you cannot get them by creating a new account.
