The system tries to normalize you. Due to the low number of games you have, it assumes you're on a streak so it's going to wait until you establish it as a pattern before skipping you forward.

How it works? Probably. Good progression design? Hell no. The current ranked system is beyond stupid, to me, and I'm really hoping Riot either removes promotional games or fixes them so that LP and MMR aren't so ridiculously separated.

The BS part is that My main is gold 2. I just got paired against 4 plats 5's and 5 gold 1's.

So how am i supposed to get this account to gold... when I'm playing people higher than my main accounts elo?
