Be a "Part of the Team" skins.

I'm not sure if you guys @ Riot have already thought of this. But in light of the recently featured video about how LoL is a TEAM-based game, I think it would be within this spirit to create more matching skins for a team. Look at Battlecast Cho'Gath and Urgot for example. Now imagine an entire team.

This would:

  • give teams a slight psychological advantage (intimidation) which will prompt other serious players/teams to follow suit.
  • help bolster the comradery of the team members.
  • create a more professional atmosphere for an eSport game.
  • spark more interest for skins and LoL in general and help to promote a healthy player community.

I hope others agree with me. But that's what we're going to figure out on this forum.

It's a really great idea. The only trouble is it's really, really hard for them to justify committing art resources to something that A) doesn't make any money, and B) not everyone is going to have access to.

For example, even the end-of-season skins that go to players reaching leagues Gold and higher will end up going to ~20% of the playerbase.

The story of the Honor system is still somewhat untold, but let's say they put together five skins (one for each Honor crest, and maybe a special one for players who unlock all four crests). Instead of one skin going to 20% of the population, you're looking at 5 skins going to perhaps that same total number of players. And here's the kicker: it's all going to generally be the same group of players. So you'll have a lot of people with no Honor skins, and a lot of people with two or three.

So I'd make the case for one Honor skin before a full team. It's a fun long-term development goal, though! There weren't always 5 Commando skins, after all...

You know, personally I think it would be really cool if Riot were to add skins that were only unlocked when your honor rating was high enough or if you profile has enough positive feedback. These skins would be only useable by people who are good members of the community and would be taken away if it was found that this particular member was not a nice person or was reported for too many infractions.

The issue with it is that not all of the people who have themed skins would actually work that well as a full team comp in this day and age, while i agree it could be a cool idea but at the end of the day i don't think it would really change much, people who buy skins will still buy them and people who wont wont :)
