Role Selection Ideas from a Support Secondary

I've been playing league for a little over a year now, and have shifted my main role a couple times. First it was jungle, but a friend of mine had joined league just after finishing my b3 placements, and I let him jungle so he wouldn't be under constant pressure. I choose tanks since I lack good mechanics and am more suited for decision making. Naturally, when I played support, I instantly felt more at home since good mechanics are not as important for support in my elo. I started queuing with my friend for his ranked placements, and he got s3.

I ended my ranked journey with him soon after since I had been demoted to b4, and did not want to hurt his lp. I would queue up Top/Supp for my games, and got Supp about 1/5 of the time, which is perfect. But I've recently been spamming normals with my friend again, but now I just flat out do not get Top. At first I do not mind, but even for an upcoming support main the role gets incredibly dull, and the toxicity Supps deal with is no help. When I put Top as primary, I at least want one game of it in a day, but no, all day today, and no Top. Riot has been trying to fix queue times for some time now, and it is mainly due to a lack of Support mains from my understanding. When I play solo, it seems to return to Top 4/5 of the time.

From my own experience, choosing Supp secondary is only a problem when duo+, and out of my friends I'm the only one who picks it. Sadly, I have been getting it so often that I've thought about trying a different role, and I think I now understand why Supports are so uncommon. With the new way of role choosing coming in the future, I am afraid that I may be forced to choose to not play Support and take a longer queue time just to add some spice into my gameplay. I feel like a much simpler fix to the lack of Supports is to guarantee the primary role for someone who has played Support a certain number of times in a row. This would give incentive for people who only want to play Support on the side to put it in there Secondary instead of opting for a different role. Any thoughts on ways to increase the Support pool?
