Duo-Queues ruin this game

Whenever two people duo-queue into normal/ranked queue you automatically have a negative handicap on your team. 99% of duo-queues do not play to win, they play to have fun with each other. They will not sacrifice one another to take an objective, they won't help the stranger to get better results out of a fight, and instead will always choose their partner. In a match I will play selfless, and if I think better results can be had from diving, or sacrificing myself while I try to peel for my ADC/Mid then I will do that. The duo-queue mentality is that you'll protect your partner because you want to impress them, or you don't want them to die and have a bad time playing. This is toxic and ruins the game. Having fun while being selfish, and wanting to put your friend before your allies is exactly why duo-queues lose more games than they win.

Duo-queues that aren't professional players who understand this concept are always terrible, no matter how good they are as individuals, and more often than not they won't be cooperative, they'll have preset roles in mind before the champion select, they will have much less flexibility to help the team, and I have yet to have an enjoyable experience playing with duo-queues. I would like to option to remove any duo-queues from my single-player queue when I attempt to join matchmaking. I do not understand why this isn't already an option, as DotA has this option, and I never have issues with players being uncooperative like I have issues with duo-queues.

If anyone else is tired of being force-matched with players who have predetermined how they'll play the entire game and (almost always) lose, then please leave some comments for discussion, general feedback, or upvotes/whatever.

Ok, that's not what i thought you would say after I read the title...

Duos fall into 3 categories for me.

  1. The good
  2. The bad
  3. The ugly

Yea i went there

The good are the duos who are really good together and duoing for synergy. I play normal with a friend, and though I am slightly more inclined to put my shield on my friend, if another member of my team needs help i will not decline throwing shields at them and large numbers of tornadoes at the chasers (I main Janna Support, encase it wasn't obvious) The OTHER team having one of these makes their entire team OP.

The bad are the Duos you described above. They cause problems. If they are not ok with changing roles, than they shouldn't be playing in solo/duo at all.

The ugly are the kind of players who belong in bronze V trying to duo with a Diamond I or something less dramatic than that. This creates one player who will focus on keeping there other alive, and one that will focus on winning.

Riot, I would love to see stats on the winning % of teams with Duos in it, if you could procure that for me that would be great.

If you have a duo on your team, the opposing team always has a duo

Duo Queues are basically why I'm quitting the game. 100% lose rate with matches that had a Duo Queue because they think they are entitled to duo bot no matter what pick order they are in.
