Ping indicator for those of us with strange internet.
I and others I know have been cursed with the most temperamental internet for many miles, it will sometimes slow right down and then drop out ruining the ability to play effectively. To avoid wasting both my time and that of my teammates I believe that if I could ping the server before entering queue I would be more informed as to whether I am about to go AFK for the match rather than finding I have 1600 ping in the load screen. I have thought about how this might work and why it hasn't been done already and come to a few decisions.
- pinging everyone all the time would be heavy on the servers and wasteful as most people don't have this problem
- If then you got pinged only when you want to the servers might still take a beating from trolls
Fix: a button with a 40 second cooldown allowing you to ping the server when you want to check your status without allowing waves of trolls to massacre the servers. It could even have a temporary lockout of you do it 10 times in a row or something like that.
