Who are we?

Elo Heaven is a group that originated back in Season 2 with the intent of helping players get better at League of Legends by focusing on their own play and recognizing their mistakes, bad decisions, mechanical failures and improving on them in order to climb their way out of “elo hell”. Over the past 2 seasons the Community has gone through many ups and downs, but we are definitely back on the way up now!

We offer help to players with free 1 on 1 mentoring sessions, mentored inhouse games, and in-depth discussions in all aspects of league.

1 on 1 mentoring sessions involve a mentor critiquing your gameplay in a number of formats, such as spectating your games or 1v1ing you in a certain lane. During these sessions, the mentor will help identify problems with your gameplay and give advice on how to fix these problems. Mentoring sessions cover the entire range of the League of Legends spectrum, from very specific sessions such as a certain champion or matchup to general lane/role advice to advice on your attitude while playing. The content of a session is entirely dependent on the mentee.

Mentored inhouses are offered every Saturday for 3-4 hours during which the players are given feedback by mentors on the game and what to improve on. Each lane/position is given time to be reviewed and critiqued by mentors as they review the lane matchups, builds and overall play. This allows other players in the game as well as those spectating to also get experience by hearing suggestions for improved play in the lane they were not apart of in order to develop into a stronger overall player.

The community strives to offer a fun and exciting atmosphere that revolves around helping their members feel comfortable in game and in the community. While the main focus is on league here at Elo Heaven we also take time off to do other things within the community like Friday Fun Nights where the community chooses other games to play together.

Recruiting:

We’re currently looking for members to help grow the community who like to play in a laid back fun atmosphere.

We’re also searching for Mentors who are willing to help teach members about the game, what they are doing wrong and helping them improve in all league aspects. Mentors must be friendly and willing to work either in a 1 on 1 environment or monitor an inhouse and offer feedback to all players involved.

Last Year we were featured on the Reign of Gaming Website, check it out:

Here is my testimonial as to why I think you should give this community a chance. I joined this community about 2 years go after taking 6 months off from league because I wasn't enjoying the game due to playing it alone. I started a new character and decided to find a community to play with. After trying out 3 different communities I finally found this one. Upon joining up here I immediately felt more desire to play league.

I played for awhile with the community leveling to 30 with some of the community members and then remember being afraid to try ranked due to not being confident in my skills and being afraid to feed. After joining a number of the mentored inhouses and getting some 1 on 1 mentoring I finally decided to play ranked and placed in Bronze 2. I was so devastated because I though I was better than that. But the community here was very helpful and diagnosing alot of my issues and I soon began to climb. I ended season 3 at Silver 2 (right before reset) and then this year I am working my way into gold (promos).

As a relatively older gamer (at least in reaction speed terms) I am psyched this community has helped me get this far in ranked. It also has allowed me to make some great friends from around the world. I was even able to get a taste of playing on a competitive team during our 2nd Elo Heaven Lockdown tournament where my team was able to make it all the way to the finals.

So if your looking for a community of great people who are here to help you have fun, learn a bit about the game and get better as well as have that feel of a place where you can relax and fit in this is the place for you. Right now we are regrowing the community so now is the time to come and join and be apart of something great!!

Ok so testimonial time oh yeah!

Anyways i started i actually joined this community right at the end of season 2. I had been going through a hard time with league, i was raging i thought the only thing the was wrong with my games was my teammates and that i was doing everything right. When i first joined i didn't want to listen to anyone here and didnt really want to communicate much. Then the some people from the community started inviting me to games. I hadn't been use to this because at the time i was mainly just playing by myself had no friends who played it. Over the next few months i started becoming friends with a small portion of the community, got to know them better actually kept up talking with them. I also started seeing improvement in way of playing and in my attitude towards the game. Now after two years of being here, ive made great friends, i've improved my attitude and mental health amazingly, and above all i actually enjoy playing this game again.

If you are having any hesitation in checking us out, don't!! Just come on by we are a great and friendly community, we always have games going and if we dont we are always willing to start one up. Come learn with us, and help us teach you, not only will you improve at the game but you may improve on yourself and make some new friends as well.

Now this is a story all about how my league got flip-turned upside down And if you'd like to take a minute to just come on by we'll show you how to carry out of a league called Bronze five

Down in the bronze league, born and raised In ranked solo q was where I spent most of my days, Chillin' out maxin' relaxin' all cool losing every game, yeah I was getting schooled

When some Elo Heaven guys who were so good started teaching me to play like I should I got a mentoring session and my mind was clear I said "I'm climbing up to diamond, soon I'll be there!"

This sounds like the kind of community for me, and I'm definitely interested. Are there any applications or anything I have to fill out, and/or screening processes and whatnot, or do I simply make an account and start introducing myself? I just want to be sure before trying to register or anything, because I tend to be the type of person that would easily mess up the first impression. >.>

Anyways, I've read the various introductions and testimonies, and this definitely sounds like a community I'd love to be a part of. If anyone can just clear up the starting process, that would be great :P

I've been a member of this community for a good one and a half years, and am currently one of the two community event coordinators. We have weekly events that members are free to join, which includes Mentored Inhouses!

For me personally, this community is probably the only reason I still play league. It allows me to find people to play various queues, and I even could even find fixed ranked duo partners . Often, I just hang out in our RaidCall server without actually playing much, but chatting with the people on there is just as good. This sounds cliche, but the people on there are really friendly, and we (mostly) all get along. Well worth joining if you're looking for a friendly place while improving on LoL.

Another testimonial!

I joined roughly a year ago, looking for a community of some sort to assist me in getting better. From the mentors (DusilB and Raiden in particular), I learned a lot of important mechanics and game sense. I'm still in the Bronze basement, but its not because I don't know any better anymore. It's up to me at this point.

I'm not as active with ELOHeaven as I used to be since I joined up with Factions, but these guys and gals are super-chill and if you are serious about getting better, they will definitely teach you something.

10/10, would recommend again.

I have been a part of Elo Heaven for almost two years and lets just say I don't regret being a core member of this community. I was introduced to EH by my friend who told me that there were mentors that were willing to volunteer their time to teach others about what they know about league of legends. Whether if its a specific role, mechanics, or strategy, there are mentors that are willing to help out and provide their knowledge on that topic or champion. I was instantly hooked and gave Elo Heaven a shot.

At the time, I was not ranked because of my lack of confidence to face other players on a more competitive level. With much desire to improve, I attended mentored inhouses and 1 on 1 mentoring. The constructive criticism and feedback were very useful. By taking them into consideration, I improved by play style ability and obtained useful strategy that I was about to put to the test in my actual ranked/normal games. After every season I improved my rank; from bronze 1 (season 2), to gold 3 (season 3), and possibly plat by the end of this season.

What I like about Elo Heaven the I have other people to play with whether if its osu, zmr, l4d2, archeage or other mini games like capture the teemo. Its an easy way to connect and chill with other fellow members just to relieve the stress about ranked. For the most part, I have became really close friends with a lot of people in the community.

So if you are looking for a chill community and also want to improve as a league of legends player then Elo Heaven is definitely a place for you.

Hey friends and potential new friends!

Like many others have said before me, Elo Heaven is a wonderful opportunity to get better at League of Legends, make new friends, and become part of a truly wonderful gaming community. Elo Heaven hosts mentored in houses, one on one training sessions, fosters ranked 5 team games, duo queue, as well as casual normals, arams, and other fun queues. We're a very open community, warm and welcoming to all no matter what rank you are!

This is a fantastic idea, and though it's probably not a popular sentiment I never would have known about your community had this not been posted here on the new boards as I mostly avoided the old forum.

MrBuffington10/7/2014, 3:58:30 AM3 votes

Back when I was playing Halo 3, I was slowly losing interest in the game until I found a community that sounds very similar to this group; largely focused on teaching the game but also hosted fun tournaments or just in general was a fun place to meet friendly people and hang out. In that community, I had probably the most fun I ever had in the game. I would very much like to join your community, however Raidcall seems to have dropped Mac support, as such I don't know how I could participate :/

So you're telling me you'll teach me exactly what I need to improve on? What exactly goes into the critiquing process?
