Straight up, the game doesn't start until level 30. Like, it really sucks to say, but you aren't playing league of legends until you're level 30.

Aside from that, having the basics down is an insane advantage, and you should have no trouble at all.

Hey man if you want to learn anything or have questions, feel free to send me a friend request and id be more than happy to help you out with anything. My ingame name is LastbreathX...and my other account is Noksterz. Im a high-mid gold elo player (probly around 4k-ish mmr in dota terms). Learning the items and what to build on who and when is part of the learning. League is different than DoTA in the sense that most (definitely not all), but more than half of items dont have an active effect. They pretty much all have a passive effect though. Some have a "unique passive" which means the passive will not stack. So for example if an item has a unique passive of 20% lifesteal....you cant buy 4 of that item and get 80% lifesteal. Youll only get the 20%. Dunno if you already figured that out or not but it cant hurt to explain anyway. League is also different in the sense that there is typically a "meta" for which lane champions are typically played in. Most heroes in DoTA can usually do ok in other lanes and dont have a specific lane they have to go in. Tanks & bruiser types are played in the top lane...assasins & mages are mid lane...adc & support are bot lane...jungle can be anything from a tank to an assassin to an adc to a mage, as long as they have abilities that aid well in ganking. Laners rarely ever leave their lane to gank other lanes, unlike DoTA, except for mid lane...they should try to roam often. As for how items work and what to build on each class....well thats a lot to go over in a post on the boards. You need to know what kind of dmg the enemy team is doing (are they doing mostly physical or magical dmg?) Things like learning what type of dmg each champion does, are things you need to learn. Like i said....if you want help learning or have questions just send me a friend request.

If u are a dota 2 player then u already have the mechanical skill. Now u just have to work on the knowledge portion. Who builds what items and what the different champions are capable of and where they go.

Heres some tips from a experienced point of view, sorry it's so long and blunt and to the point, bear with me xD

Mobafire has all the champion builds, and guides, if you search and champion and then guide into google you will see mobafire guides, look at a couple of them, decide what works best for you, they have not only the items you build, but the abilities you max first, and lots of tips and tricks and rotations etc etc, works wonders, and since you played Dota, you know the basics, all i can say is, don't be that one guy that goes in over and over trying the same thing expecting a different outcome, they call this "feeding" xD know when to base, know when to passively farm if you have to, and know when to wait for help.

Annnnnd remember, don't flame, This game has the absolute worse automated ban system EVER, it will take number of reports over the actual person who needs punished, so if people start to flame you, hold tab, and mute them, don't even start with them. And lastly, play to have fun, this community has lost its way a long time ago, they think everything is about winning, and flaming anyone who gets in the way of that. So just mute them and you wont ever have an issue :3

Solo queue no longer exists, get friends quickly to queue up with, or you won't have a good time, sorry to be so blunt, but that's the sad truth, if you queue solo, you go against trios with voice chat and actual team compositions, which make it impossible to have fun and learn new champions you have never tried, especially since your team will more than likely be filled with people who just want to play whatever champ they want that goes in a certain lane xD, and they won't be coordinated, friends makes league a whole lot more fun, and a whole lot easier to win and get good on champions, its simple, you can't learn a champ or a lane if the enemy team is voice coordinated ganks and dragon calls and such, so it's best to be on the side that has that advantage, and then you don't have to worry about messing up because friends don't care, they just wanna have fun!

Alrighty sorry for that long ass reply and bluntness about some flaws of the game, just trying to prepare ya for whats ahead haha, good luck and have fun! and Remember, no flame![slayer-jinx-catface]
