Regarding PROJECT:Disruption borders

Hey. I'm just wondering if i choose to spend 7 cores on a PROJECT: Ashe First Strike Icon now, but I can only afford to get the skin at a far later time, would I still have the First Strike border for PROJECT: Ashe down the line?

Project FAQ page says you must own both the skin and its associated First Strike icon by the end of the event (end of the 16th) to unlock the border; https://support.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/210155266-PROJECT-DISRUPTION-FAQ
