diamond lp gains broken?

I thought it was just me but I've asked a number of people and they've reported to me the same. I'm getting 13 lp for wins, usually between 13-18 and I lose between 20-23. Why is this happening?

-My MMR is not high or below; My W/L is ~125-85 +40 wins over losses and I LoLNexus to play with the same ELO as me. -This was happening to me in D5, and I figured it was somewhat of a D5 thing and it would leave once I climbed out of it-- but here I am Diamond 4 and it's still happening. It's making it really rough for me considering I might be in promos at this point if it weren't for these poor LP gains

No third party site has your real MMR, so it can be wildly inaccurate. If you lose more than you gain, your MMR really is lower than the average.

Im not going off of any "site" I have a good W/L, and I play with players my ELO. Not sure whats troubling about understanding that.

You referenced Lolking for your matchmaking in the OP, so ya you kind of did. Your win/loss ratio is not equivalent to your MMR compared to the average; your LP gains, however, are.

And idk why you'd say "I play with players my elo". Of course you do, that's how matchmaking works.

K can anybody else reply. Let me give you an example Diamond 5 with good mmr = playing with diamond 3s Diamond 5 with Diamond 5 mmr = playing diamond 5s Diamond 5 with bad mmr = Playing with plat 3s. Diamond 5 with terrible mmr = Playing with plat 5s = demoted to plat 1

I am a diamond 4 playing with diamond 4. Hope you dont have another smart comment cause I really want to get to the bottom of this.

That's not how it works. If you're D5 with good MMR you will also be getting paired with other D5's with good MMR, Plats with really high MMR, high Diamonds with low MMR etc. You don't simply get paired with higher divisions just because you have a high MMR and they are in a higher division.

In the end, you are following a third party source that says your MMR is average, when they don't have your real MMR to begin with.

actually no. It is how it works lol... anyone with low MMR will play with lower ranks. He never said he used a third party source that SAYS his MMR is average. He uses a third party source program that SHOWS him the ranks that he is going against. He is not using the MMR number that they gave him. You are completely missing his point here lol. Should rly search on how MMR works first before commenting.

You're only going to play with people with the same MMR as you. Their rank is irrelevant. Your cause and effect are entirely backwards; being a rank doesn't get you paired with a certain MMR, being a certain MMR gets you paired with the same certain MMR and they may just happen to be a lower rank.

Lmfao. We're speaking from experience. I've had shit mmr once (gold 5 with silver 2-3 MMR). There was not ONCE where a gold player was on my team. It was all silver 2s and 3s. The fact that riot hasn't mentioned it does not mean my statement is false. But the fact that everyone who has ever questioned this has replied the same thing I have, I'm pretty sure I'm right.

And what does me being diamond have to do with this? I've been ranking for 4 years, and I know about MMR more than you do. Maybe I shouldn't have said to search up how MMR works because riot has never really clearly mentioned it. idk man use ur damn brain think about it how much easier would it be to place a gold player, with silver MMR, with other silver players? Why in the world would they search for other gold players with silver mmr?

I want you to read Riot's Matchmaking Guide support article, and quote me where it says "A low MMR will pair you with lower Rank players" and not "You are paired with others of similar MMR". I'll wait. Just quote where it mentions Rank in regards to finding a match.

All of you people commenting that are lower diamonds are all wrong. Diamond MMR is completely messed up. it has been an issue, and riot is aware of it. You can gain 26 lp once ur in plat, but once u get diamond v ur lp gains go from 26 to the 10s. Comparing silver mmr to a diamond v mmr is fucking stupid. Im diamond 4 and i play people with my elo , yet i gain only 15 lp per match and lose about 20. This problem happened since master tier was added. Ive been trying to climb out of diamond 5/4 and it's like impossible. You get people who are in diamond v 0 lp who troll and dont care, while having 15 lp gains and 20 lp loses. I have a friend who was plat 1 with 25 lp gains and once he hit diamond v it went from 25 to 16. So it's not about him being bad and having bad mmr, its about riot being too lazy to fix this stupid ass diamond mmr problem even thought they claimed they did, because obviously they did not.
