Two Completely Different Suggestions:

First: when looking at champions online or in the store, we have a feature for filtering which champions we are looking at; Assassin, Fighter, Mage, etc. Why dont we have similar filters during champion selection? These tabs could stand next to the current "champion" tab at the top of the page. Or similarly, can we create sub categories for champion select the same way we have them for the shop. e.g. we could create pages for mid-laners, ADCs, Bans. etc.

Second: my idea was to create a space in riot where you could vote for new skin ideas. to make a suggestion costs 10 (or 100) rp, to vote for a suggestion costs 1 (or 10) rp. Riot would get final say over what is acceptable/possible within copyrights etc. Whenever a suggestion is selected for production (depending on difficulty maybe one of the most voted skins each month?) the person who suggested it gets the skin free (and/or gets a rp reward). another possible feature could be that every rp you donated towards a skins selection- you get off when buying the skin.

As for number 1:

This actually does exist, but requires you to type in the role into the "search" box. If you type in "Marksman" it will show Ashe, Varus, etc.

First off I'm happy to know the option is there is you search it, thanks Phreak. The 2nd idea is nice as well when you see the reason behind it, but above all this i would LOVE for my client to update so i can play, Its not updating, i tried the repair system and all that, nothings working, and now ima miss out on all the rare skins that are coming back randomly throughout the next couple months, any suggestions Phreak? <3 ~JustAnAverageLeaguePlayer

I like these. #2 would be kind of cool, but I would substitute IP for RP. That way, players have to play the game and can't buy votes. Players that play the game more will have more votes. Love the idea that IP/RP used for vote can be discounted when you buy the skin!

Hey there :D (p.s. love the name) i thought about IP too- because it would give people an opportunity to use gameplay to influence skin selection.

but i decided on RP for a few reasons. mostly, because people are less likely to create trolly suggestions with their money (even if it only costs a dime to vote and a dollar to suggest). There are a lot of voting systems that get their gears gummed up by bad suggestions getting popular just for the laugh of getting that suggestion popular. This would be less likely to happen if you had to submit a monetary value to vote. So you would only vote for skins you really believed in. but that was the purpose of the pre-buy discount system, to off set the money-makes-right mindset. That way you would be rewarded for your faith in the idea.

i also decided on RP because, in the end, you can only buy skins with money. So it makes sense to use the same currency to influence their creation.

Another thought is this: one of riot's strengths is how they listen to the community. If they have to turn down a suggestion (even if it is an obviously bad one), the community would feel jilted. "So you dont trust us after all". The reason i have the ideas i have, is to expedite the process as much as possible. Riot wouldnt want to turn down ideas, and every idea that they had to deny would hurt the community as a whole. People are good and can work together to create beautiful things. But sometimes we enjoy seeing things change- even if it isnt a positive change.So it is always good to fuse creative altruism with a touch of self-interest. keeps people honest :)

I like the idea you have for number 2, but I would change it a bit. I can understand what you think with RP being something people have paid for so they wouldn't troll with it, but I've seen plenty of people who like nothing more than to troll and this would let anyone who had a few extra dollars in their pocket do so. If it was based off of IP then in order to vote you need to play the game, and it would add another IP sink for people who play the game a lot and have extra IP floating around.

The only other thing I would change is potentially make it so only riot can post suggestions. Have it where Riot makes 2 concept arts available to choose from and then everyone votes on it and its the next thing that they push for in production. It would allow them the ability to be transparent in what they are working towards, while allowing them the ability to control the quality and risk involved in making a new skin. There are usually a host of issues preventing them from working on certain ideas and I like some of the skin ideas that are posted in the forums but there are definitely some that would infringe on other people's intellectual property.

What would be interesting to see is a spot more dedicated to posting concept art for champion skins on the forum. Slide show/large thumbnail presentation and maybe X amount of votes in a given time per summoner. That could allow Riot to see what the community wants and give them the ability to respond to the most popular ideas, even if it was to say sorry we can't do that for X reason.

I have to say that I like your first suggestion, had thought of it but never posted it.

The second I have no say about, but I'd like to add a suggestion of my own: I like how the revamped champions tab looks and functions, but I was wondering whether we could get the option to scroll down for secondary attributes as well.
