Is the Archangel Stave Stacking still a viable way to get high AP (1k+)

I was recently looking at Teemo and thinking, "Oh you dirty SOB,". I looked at his abilities and realized, with toxic shot, he can do crap tons of damage if he has 1k AP (seriously, like 1.5k magic damage with basic attack).

Now, being the person I am, I immediately looked at ways to accomplish this. I was on the old forums, and saw that to get 1k AP, you could use one Rabadon's Deathcap, and 5 Archangel Staffs (I'm assuming this also means Seraph's Embrace). Now, I know that Unique passives don't stack, so I was wondering if this is still a good way, or if the suggestions to stack five of Archangel Staffs is outdated?

And if that isn't viable anymore (which I don't think so, but hey, I'm not too bright) please suggest some current ways to get my AP to 1k

Start a custom game. Buy 2 staffs. See for yourself, it only takes 20+ minutes.

Or you could read this and see the answer is no for practical purposes.

You could do that I suppose, but you'd be wasting the mana, you were building as Teemo wouldn't ever use that much mana. I've seen it done other ways though:

item 3089 item 3157 item 3041 item 3040 item 3027 = 540 AP not factoring in passives and such aside from fully stacked Mejais

Mana bonus from Seraphs factoring in RoA and Teemo level 18 mana pool = 78 AP
Runes: Scaling AP glyphs and Quints at 18 = 51
Masteries: Mental Force, Arcane Mastery, Archmage(not yet factored in) = 22
Elixir of Sorcery = 40

The current total after adding all of that up comes to 731

35% of AP ( & Archmage) = 256

Totals 986 AP

Capping would mean one other item that gives AP....Let's say item 3135 since we have virtually zero Magic Pen

New total 801AP + 280(35%) = 1081 AP (A lot of people are going to build Nashor's somewhere in there, so swapping that for void you'd lose roughly 13AP +/-)

On Ez I like to build item 3003 item 3158 item 3025 item 3042 and what ever else i need, if I'm fighting an easily kiteable team i'll pick up a item 3022 item 3116 because cancer.

tear mana is a unique passive it doesnt work anymore.
