To call a Spelling Bee or math competition a sport would sound silly so why is gaming competition called a sport?

Why not be original and call it something else?

There is a thing called mind sports, and is simply the entire definition of a sport but it places emphasis on the mental aspect of a competition rather than physical, i.e. chess. E-sports is the exact same thing, but obviously in a virtual setting.

The definition of sport and e-sport only have a very slight difference, they are not two entirely different concepts. If you can't accept that non-physical sports are still sports, you're going to have a bad time.

sport spôrt/Submit noun 1. an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment. "team sports such as baseball and soccer" synonyms: (competitive) game(s), physical recreation, physical activity, physical exercise, athletics; pastime "we did a lot of sports"

League will never be a sport, no matter what. The only, ONLY, reason it is recognized by the U.S. Government is because it makes buttloads of money and they can benefit from charging them official sports fees. Still not a sport.
