Tons of Issues I'd like to discuss.

Hello community! I guess, you are the better part of community, finally most of people doesn't use boards or forums. Wanted to name it "Voice of Rinyu - cause I was send on forum in almost every support ticket I wrote", but it was way too long.

Here is little story about me: I started my adventure with League in February of 2012 - and i'm still bad player. I wrote many, many, many player support tickets and with most of cases they say me to post my opinions on forum - but forums won't answer me about reasons. Because, the workers didn't stop sending me to forums, I finally decided to try posting, because I want changes. At least try to make any influence, but, i'm scared of being flooded of many other threads or just flaming or not being answered at all. Don't think that I'm only complaining in this board. I only gives ideas of things i'm not good with. Others are probably good enough. If I make any sentence unclear because of my english, i'm very sorry. Let's begin!

I divided it to 6 sections. Every have some topics. If you answer only one issue, start your comment, for example "1A ". I'll try to make story with this, so everything is going to be lightly connected.


1. Site, Forum, Support & Tickets issues: A - Time of Reply Comparing Polish and English support it's very different. Also it's very depend on category. First ticket ever (May 08, 2012 07:07), written in English, but responded by Polish worker took 4 days. Second took 6 days. Third took some time to wrote (May 01, 2013 08:51). Number of IDs changed from 2.108xxx to 6.101xxx. (The newest is 14.208XXX and the dots are only to seperate digits). So it means that Riot workers reviewed 4 milions of cases by one year? Impressive. Okay, I won't post every time, but the most common is 3/4 days. It's not so much time when you consider the amount, right? Especially if we have, if i'm right, 32 milion players. But I guess it's only 1 milion that ever wrote support tickets. Anyway, as player, we expect 1 day respond delay. Maybe 3 if case is not urgent. Tell me, in comments what you expect, so I can see your point. PS: Actually shown numbers are not exact numbers of replies cause every ticket might have multiple messages inside. PS2: Also workers are very general... like "thanks for reporting bug", but not naming it. Also they can't read exactly what I've done or what doesn't work, etc.

B - Automatic Answers Well, sometimes you can have feeling like replied message is automatic. Literally. Let's have an example (attention, it's not copied, it's translated and shortened): Question is "Will I get rewards by achieving Gold in team, if I will be removed (not we left, but kicked out by leader) from this team?" (Finally, I reached it with my team, so I should get rewards in logic... also the arguement that says it should be kept is because points for wards are kept even from removed teams). The answer is: I quote "You will keep points that was earned by winning team ranked matches, even if you get kicked (etc)." Was this good answer? I don't think so. So, what it needs to be good answer? I need to make another reply, "Hey, you didn't answer my question properly". It happens almost every new ticket is written. Also, if you include more than one question in one ticket, you might get unanswered with some of them. Or get very general information "we can't do anything about it, even if we wish". Besides the fact, that there is usually reminder "did you read the threads in our knowledge base"? Well, I admit, your knowledge base almost never helps me. I don't say it's useless, because I believe it helps many other players. But usually someone types ticket, when answer is not involved there. My conclusion: if you make so superficial follow-up, at least make it fully automatic, so it takes only 15 minutes to read. PS: Also I don't like being send to forums in half of tickets.

C - The profiles of Account The actual profiles only can hold my mail - used to login in. Photo and phone number. Also we can set timezone. That's all. Well, having to type multiple tickets leads to repeating some action, for example, providing informations about my account - to prove i'm owner. I wish do verify account ONCE and make info available to each worker, that is assigned to ticket. Secondly, it would help workers, cause they wouldn't have to need wait reply. Profits for both sides.

**D - Overall about Articles ** Well, it's very, very annoying when worker posts links in tickets that doesn't work or work after changing languages. Why English knowledge base can't be viewed in other languages? Also, why you explain that you also have to be logged in to work. Second issue, some of threads there are outdated, others contain false data - for example about "tasklist" in Windows XP (at least in Polish version). I already was informed twice, how it has to be done properly, but article is not still fixed. I believe there are more problems like this, I just gave known example. Third - some of information are way too unclear, au contraire, there are some that are very silly. Fourth, I just clicked random article - about refunds and there was part, "we don't refund updated champion, click here for more info". I clicked and again, there was another link "to find out more info, click here", about same thing.

E - Forum & Site Issues First - it lacks of characters, like "ąęć", etc. on english language set, also logging in and changing to polish doesn't always solve this. Second - why my language is not stored? I always have to change language back. And please, don't say about cookies... It's inconvenient to change language everytime. Especially cause it redirectes mostly to "base" site. And I need to find proper news one more time. Third - I hate that usually I open links in new tab. When there is link on comment section and I click it, I got opened news twice and nothing more... not even automatic scroll to that link. And those warning should be settable to turn off in profile!

F - Language Issues (Polish) One - Because I was typing about language issues above... I just entered site and I saw that there is new news in Polish about sending cosplay photo... wait a minute, I was there yesterday, it's said has been posted 3 days ago... Well played. Huge delay. I saw english news very early and it's disappointing. Two - they are copied. From other langugages. They have ALWAYS one mistake. Spelling, dates. Anything. Now look Screen01. There is comment, that this time they copied ITALIAN message and didn't translate it before publishing!!! (It's fixed now, but it shouldn't happen at all). It was double IP weekend. On support site it was said it's 4 days. There was even graphic with these. It was later fixed to 3 days, but still it was only 2 days. Riot should apologize (and did) for this fail and make that how it was announced - 4 days, so extend it by those 2 days. Four - they use english phrases like "elo decay" without explaining it in Polish. That's HUGE mistake in my opinion. Sometimes they make steps very silly-sound like and sometimes they are saying about things that 'casual player' wouldn't know about. Or understand in other language.

H - Inconsistent Informations & Workers For examples, see 6B and 5C. Expanding 5C: one time you say, that requirement is that games must be played 50%+ with IP from this country, other time it's 75%+ games in that language, etc. Please, make your "interior" databasa consistent. Casue saying different answers is not only confusing, but at some points must be missing with truth. Also, I don't like that one of my tickets were processed by NINE [yes, 9] workers. It seriously bothers a lot, because they keep repeating themselves and mostly they have no idea what the problem is [or was]. The other thing: I wrote about SR FPS problem to English and Polish support. Polish one, didn't want to help me, when I refused to update video drivers (which cause problems). English, at least tried with funny advices like "install Razer Game Booster". Another one: once asked 3C issue, I got answered "because Xin got god-powers". That's not an answer! It doesn't explain anything. One more issue: Sometimes workers ask me to do something that was already done. For example "send dxdiag". And it was included post above! The last: Just stupid. Sometimes messages I wrote are way longer than answers. Mainly because they almost never answer question, if you include more than 2 in one ticket. I write in first message "I got new system after formatting HDD, no addional softwares expect for these ". And in one of next messages I see "disable all your applications" or "reinstall LoL". Why... why would I do that if I just got "fresh" copy of system, so everything I got is also "fresh", so LoL client can't be corrupted in any way, because it wasn't long on disk.


2. Game & Balance issues: A - Trends There are some constant weaknesses that are not fixed. For example Urgot, he has the lowest win ratio in past month, excluding Azir. So why he didn't got buffed last patch? It is way to hard to change a little some aspects to show you're doing something or what? Too scared of getting overpowered?

B - 3v3 map I noticed that some champions are extremely good on this map, including Yi, Tryndamere. Was some kind of nerf considered? If I'm correct, they only increased Tryndamere's ultimate cooldown by 10 seconds. In my opinion it should be short. 5x5 = 5 seconds. 3x3 = between 3 to 4 seconds. The ability of destroying turrets on ultimate is way too strong. Also, mana scaling champions like Ryze and Kassadin have incredibly low first levels, but later they are monsters (Ryze is easier).

C - Yasuo's skin (aka skill abilities visibility) Well, it's probably only example that bothers me. Well, the effect that Yasuo stacked his Q is much less visible on Classic than other skins. If so, it affects game in little way. Oh, other example: Flame Zyra's flowers.

D - Some skills Mechanics Well, my mind says that it should work well different. For example, W, should not be placed immediately, but when it reaches range of place, where pointed with cursor while pressing W. Also, how to use Rumble's ultimate on smartcast? I just can't. Here are 2 solutions. Simple - let every champion have it own setting - for example, Rumble will load settings that disable R's smartcast. Imagine, in past I had huge problem with Vayne's ultimate - it just lagged a lot, it could be fixed, if every game as Vayne I get decreased graphics. Saving time and preventing forgetting. Easy and everyone happy. Probably there would be more situations it would be advantage. Second is next Subpoint.

E - Training Mode So, one "smart" supporter, told me "check if this bug occurs on custom game". Ok, how I'm supposed to do that if I, or anyone else, doesn't own that champion that is bugged? What is I want to practise some ults' mechanics? The cooldowns are long usually. Here is solution: Training Mode. You can place champions on small map. You can set them which skills they use and delay after each use. Also, your cooldowns are extremly low, like URF, so you can also see how ulti works, so you don't have to wait 2 minutes or longer. Also you start with level 6 and more gold, so you can try how everything works. By this, people can see if some ideas have sense without risk of ruining game to other people. The only problems might be: this could be use to find out existing bugs and it would cause more server "usage".

F - Jayce OP? Well, it's always sad view when one Q can take 1/3 of hp or even more. I don't think any other skills have such power like this. Isn't he a bit too strong? It's very noticable on ARAMs. Amazing poker. Also, his ability to take rest of hp with his other skills seems way to easy. Maybe I have wrong point about this - i'm not midlaner, I didn't play Jayce a lot, so I need to ask other players, to judge and give some informations about this. PS: On map 3v3, he can use combo and it will pass through every wall, I guess.

G - Map Angles If you compare Dominion & 3v3 map to others there is one thing definitely better - they are FAIR. The same angle of view. ARAM is litteraly mirrored map, excluding shops. Couldn't purple team have view like they start from "left-bottom" side? Because on ARAM, it's slightly worse to play as purple, cause some part of 'screen' is covered by HUD/interface. I extremly understand SR's charm in different sides. Someone might prefer to play top/mid as purple, but other as blue. Still, there should be reliable explanation about why purple team doesn't have the same view as blue (like they start from "left-bottom"). Also, I will stress how good Dominion stairs block is good. It gives time to buy items, au-contraire Summoner's Rift.


3. Game bugs issues: A - Death Recap This one is consisting of few parts. One - almost every match it's like this: I got 2,6k HP. 2 enemies kill me, but damage shown on death recap is summed 1000. I know it shows only 3 of most dealing damage skills, but still it should be more. Second - displaying guys that deal much lower damage than other person. So I see for example "Kassadin 100 dmg", while Zed did 500 dmg and is not listed. Third - just look screens... it's easier to understand by picture than words. B - Firewall error I got this 2 recently (one on ranked): http://i.imgur.com/WT6HeGJ.png "Unable to connect to server, check firewall (...)" I was unable to connect. Nothing helped and it's quite common issue, too. I wouldn't mind if it happened only in normals, but ranked? Every other game works fine and they will still say it was my PC fault. Riot will blame even Microsoft's software for this. Why, if hundreds of other matches worked fine?

C - Xin's E vs Azir's R I'm not sure if it's bug, or it's intended, but Xin's E allowed to go through Azir's wall. Did you patch it? Cause that information was not included in patch notes. D - Turret Targeting Again, pasting from support ticket There was another lie that was told me by your workers. You paged me to the site: http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Turret It says the closest champion, but many, many times I saw it targeted person standing further, while there was no enemy champion nearby or any other condition. Well, recently I experienced this bug again. So, it's still not fixed.

*E - Summoner's Rift FPS lower than other maps So, I encounter problem like above. One worker tried to help me, but it ended with sentence similar to this: "wait patiently to newer version of summoner's rift, I experienced myself, it's working better". Well, it would be disappointement if it didn't work for me, so to be sure it does work, what we could do... let me think... how about giving PBE access for 1/2 days so I can find out? NO WAY, Riot workers doesn't intend to help in this way, that would provide best information about this. Why? Because "no". "It would be unfair, everyone could say the same only to get access". Well, no, Riot. I tried to include as many materials [videos, screenshots] to show you that this problem really occurs to me. Also, this could be called negligance, because player that gets responded like this can feel ignored about problem.


4. Client pvp.net issues: A - The most common one Why it's still not fixed? Look here: http://forums.eune.leagueoflegends.com/board/attachment.php?attachmentid=69163&d=1378936708

B - Shop working slow Why there is no improvement since I play [02.2012] about shop? The only thing added was "Totem skins" tab :)

C - New Status for pvp Chat I would really appreciate that, because i'm person that waits for invitations. And I keep being ignored. Also, I don't want to type everyone message "hey invite me", because mostly i'm ignored.

D - Icons 1 IP icons. Why so cheap? Basically there is no effort to buy these. Can anyone explain me? Or... you make new splash arts, what about new icons? But not for purchase. Also, the prices of icons and wards... tremendous. Sort of.

E - Skins Refund Policy (aka "Not Greedy Riot Money Policy") Your money policy is shown on every step. You try to make people think other way, for example: giving refund tokens. It was only given, so you are not flooded by tickets asking you to refund items //Just a note: The only method to refund in past//. Also, to make people think you care about them, which is little true. But why we can refund only 3 items? NO ONE ANSWERED, explained me that case, why three? Why we can't have limitless refunds? Imagine that: You're buying skins to every champion. It takes some time to have all right? By that time, some champions get new skins. You wish you could replace your old skin with new one, but it's not possible. Unless you spend more MONEY! So explain me: Why you can allow me to refund more items no matter of time?

Having limitless refunds though would sound ideal, if it was implemented I don't think Riot would be able to keep up with it's day to day operations. You have to consider the impact of that kind of system on the business side as well. Money is a vital part in running a company but just because we need it doesn't mean we're greedy. Imagine a big company such as Riot without the finances needed to run its day to day operations. League of Legends would collapse due to that. However players are also very important since Riot is a gaming Company, support from the players is its lifeblood.

So, one more time. I wish there was possibility to refund every unwanted content. Especially cause some new skins are way more awesome than old ones. Prestigious LeBlanc is not as good as Ravenborn! Those spells animations are amazing... but if I wish to have her, I need to spend another 975/1350 rp. Okay, but having two skins for champion I don't main or just don't play often is pretty "useless". So your clients should have option of refunding old skins. Or, at least, "upgrading" to newer one by "charging" the difference [bought skin for 520, but prefer that for 1350 -> I click "change skin" and get newer, but I lose 830 rp, which is difference between these prices]. Also, I would point out, that skins are pretty expensive in opinion of many people, especially if we consider "they are only pixels". I would really like to see "exchange skin" option.

The second part is mostly about "owning" issue. If I buy real life item, I can use it whenever I want, but if I buy skin, I don't own it. The account does. If I wish to have same skin on smurf account, I would have to pay one more time. It's kinda unfair to pay twice for same thing, right? So, why skins can't be shared by 2 accounts of the same owner? Actually, I know one counter-arguement: because 2 buddies, would claim they accounts are actually one person and they would share just their skins. But, here comes other arguement: Well, Riot can easily check logs, if the accounts are logging in from the same network/machine.

F - Customizing Client I would never use spectating "recommended" games. Because spectator clients loads three times longer. Also, I'm not interested in that, but there is chance that accidentaly I will click it. As because there is some time, that screen cannot be alt-tabbed while loading, it would take time to turn it off by process. So how about possiblity to disable unwanted content? For example: [x] show news [x] show skin sales [x] show free rotation [ ] show "recommended games" Also, I don't like sizes of frames. There is one that takes about 50% of screen and usually it doesn't interest me on. I'd prefer to set "biggerness" of frames. The reason I don't like it, too, is that pressing most of the content leads to launch my browser. Why it can't open that content in game? Like Blizzard's Battlenet application or Steam?

G - Chat filter One tip says (translated) "Chat filter doesn't allow to unpunished usage of vulgarisms". So, it means that saying "f!" and other words that are censored, if we have enabled chat fileer, should be banned if it happens constantly. But it doesn't work like this. Please, it's wide-range request, care about words you use. Remember OMG vs FNC rematch thread on reddit? How much player's digged in descriptions to prove it is bug. (Actually it is not correctly programmed Homeguard script, that assumes that if someone recalls, didn't got damage, so effect is applied).

H - Informations on Screen I hate it. I hate when I click someone's profile and see MY teams. Or it doesn't show his ranked games, even if I see on buddy list he is Silver 2. http://i.imgur.com/32vvAF1.png It's very common. Also, sometimes clicking "League" displays MY league ladder, instead of person, who is "examined" by me. Also, on buddy list, sometimes it doesn't display champion names or times.


5. Society issues: A - Ban missing Everything can be seen in these messages from Ticket. (If you don't get it: I complain when I asked Support once why I got chat-banned, they auto-answered me... then I did it in this ticket and I got auto-answered again!) Quote: I have 2 accounts, but... The main account I got, got chat restricted once. I still have no idea why! I wrote ticket to found out, but I was answered by automatic response saying "you were behaving bad, we had to make some actions". It didn't explain what behaviour was bad. The other account, where I only play for First Win, I behave very bad - I use many abusive words, every match and I never got banned. Why? Questions: Do you think it's fair? I think not and it's just my proof, that your system is not FAIR! So I demand quick fix of that! Are you lacking of ideas how to solve it? Answer:

Just want you to know that we are doing our best to improve our system regarding this issue. However, as in your case, there has been a high volume of post-game reports against you relative to the number of games you've played. We have investigated your account and found higher than average levels of toxicity as a result of your actions in the matches you play. As a result, we have decided to place a series of chat restrictions on your account to help you adjust your behavior in game.

B - News' Comment section Spammed It's so easy to solve this. Why you didn't apply some kind of filter not allowing:

  • links from bit.ly and other advert-link-money sites
  • only images post
  • "pls urf back"
  • "pls refund tokens back"
  • saying things like "first + " You know annoying is it to see "register " or "first" and then replies like "to *%$! with !#!@!%". OR = + ? I know, that Riot worker will say "we're working on it", but it takes way too long time. [part1/3]

[part2/3] C - Unfair Rewards Anivia's hungarian skin. Promotion, I mean. It's so unfair... I demand you to erase this skin from non-hungarian players! Why a lot of polish people got it? It was meant to be only for hungarian people that tested client! Also, the same with Woad Ashe, etc. I know it was REGION-BASED promotion, but there are a lot of situations where someone from other region got code exchanged by Support or just by playing on "magyar client". As for guy that pay, I find it very unfair, that there are method to gain some things for free. (Except codes). The same issue with Panda Teemo and Rageborn Mundo - they were event-based skins, but everyone that found out news/info about site in that 4 days of event could get skin, even without participating on event (was it gamescon? Not sure...).

D - Double Skin Wait, what? First, it could also signed to other categories, but... Every release of champion, we might choose to buy skin or not. We don't know if it's good enough to buy, cause we don't see next one - that might be way better! For example, Lucian's Striker is more popular skin (from my observation). So, how about releasing 2 skins with champion? That would give players better choice. Also it would prevent comment-spamming like "plz rito neu skans fro jonks plz". Disadvantages: That would lead to delaying champion releases, finally it takes some time to make a new skin.

E - Not announcing some events It's mostly connected with promotions that gives free skins + champions. I only want shortly point out that they should be announced on main page, not forums only.

F - Tribual Short note: You took thing that made me believe, that flamers get really punished. So sad, so sad... ;(

G - Ping Spamming It's very annoying that ignoring guy doesn't mute his pings. Back in the day, it worked like this. But not today. Some people can't just stop, even if I ask kindly "please, don't spam". Can you work on this issue? Maybe make button "temporary mute this player pings for 1 minute" or "don't allow multiple pings in very short periods/breaks of time".

H - THE SOLUTION Making game paid but not too expensive would prevent flaming, cause people would care more about not losing account. Also it would support Rito and prevent making fake-botted-referals.


6. Miscalleneous A - Contests, especially "Comment League" (Polish) Quote (again, from ticket): Your contests are strictly unfair. I've seen it before, but never said about it, cause it didn't involve me then. Remember "zombie champion" graphic contest? Rule said "make zombie version of champion" and one of works that passed your first stage was PORO! Poro is not champion, so this artwork shouldn't be let to second stage of contest. Exactly the same situation is with our Polish content "Comment the League". It's said "show your skills of commenting in polish language" and way too many of send videos are containing too high amount of english words. I know they are specific to game, but rule say "commenting in polish". So, there is my complain, because it shouldn't be let to second stage. Also, the community voting stage is done badly! First of all - the videos are not ordered randomly like graphic-works were. Second issue - there is upvoted number shown, so most people will upvote the current leader. Third issue - first video, the most upvoted, have more upvotes than it has views on youtube! That means unfair voting. That people vote without seeing video. People should NOT be able to vote until checking out all videos, which would take about 5 hours. PS: Also they don't stick to dates! They told voting is from 6 to 10 of this month, and it started on 8 (to 12)! They didn't told anything about it, only very late on forum, which is used only by small % of players. [But still this amount is so big that forums are flooded with stupid threads]
