Do the games we play during preseason effect our mmr for placements, or is it pointless to play ranked?

Yes, the Pre-season can effect your placements.

It's kinda ALWAYS pointless to play ranked. Unless you're shooting for pro play or you're just REALLY into the end of season rewards, it's all just pointless E-peen waving.
