What the community needs.

What does the community want? BANS.... not perma bans... but a new system established to fight the good fight on the afk/rage quit scene.

I have spoken to numerous people and we've all come to the same conclusion that Riot is entirely too soft on these game ruiners.

I for one am really fond of Counterstrike:GO's system. You join a competitive match and quit the game, it gives you 3 minutes to reconnect, after the 3 minutes have expired you receive a 30 minute ban, you do it again shortly after that its a 24 hour ban, and then finally a 7 day ban.

I gurantee you if you implement something similar to this you will see a HUGE reduction in players leaving the game or raging out. I also believe that if players realize they don't have an easy out then it will give people a better attitude going in, which in turn will build better team cohesion.

Thoughts?

Awaiting flames.

Proposed system yields the following results:

Player leaves game. Player knows he will have a 30-minute ban from leaving the game. Player logs onto a different account, and queues immediately. Player is unaffected by 30-minute ban.

Current system yields the following results:

Player leaves game. Player is unaffected immediately, because Riot recognizes and respects that players aren't always in control of whether or not they can remain connected. Player leaves more games. Player receives a 5-game 20-minute LPQ. Player MUST wait out the 20-minute LPQ for 5 full games, or not play on that account again. Player is distinctly affected by LPQ.

Your system is both more punishing to people who have unintentional problems and LESS punishing to the actual intentional leavers for the reasons Jubbinaut stated.

Congratulations.

I can only see something this serve happening if the Client/Game was up to par. If the game has problems to the point where people can get disconnected because of bug splat errors, or random DC, i dont think its right to blame the player when it happens on Riot side, and to have them ban because of that would cause an uproar!
