Key Fragments
I haven't gotten any key fragments in the past 2 weeks... Meanwhile my friend just got 4 today. What am I doing wrong of is it just how the game works? Thanks to anyone who replies.

Whenever you earn a key fragment, the drop rate for the next one is lowered, and this continues to happen every time you earn one. The drop rate does reset approximately 30 days after you earn your first key fragment at the original drop rate.

Your friend just hit his reset of the cycle. Keys get progressively harder to get with each key you receive, but after around a month that will reset and it will become easy again.
