Why am I not lvl 30?

Before patch 6.5, I was lvl 22, which I think is past the halfway mark to level 30. And after patch 6.5, you guys reduced the amount of exp needed to get to 30 by half. Just say you need 1000 exp from 22 to 23, my experience bar said 1200/1000 exp (or something like that) required to the next level. So I thought I would just need to play one more game to get lvl 30, after I played that one game, I became lvl 23 not 30.....So I decided to try to lvl up one more time to get lvl 30. I grinded some games thinking it would get me to 30...but I just become lvl 24....whats going on? shouldn't I be 30 by now?

That's not how it works. The way they did this was halve the XP it takes for every level. For this change, they only cared about the amount of XP you have for your current level. All that XP you got earlier was already used to level up to level 22.

When they made the change, they basically set you at the same relative point where you were before. So if you were 3/4ths of the way to 23, you would still be 3/4ths of the way to 23 afterwards. Only difference is that from here on out, the amount of exp needed to level up is the new reduced amount.
