Help! I don't want to become a heimerdinger main

Hi all, I really enjoy playing a variety of champs and roles and have enjoyed playing many champs and doing quite well with many of them. I picked up heimerdinger during a free week and noted how easy he was so I bought him and played him in normals whenever I didn't feel like trying too hard. However, I noticed my 80% win rate with him and decided to try him out in ranked. I started noticing how easy it was to win with him and have ~70% win rate with him. I spammed him a bunch just to climb. The problem is that I am approaching gold and notice that if I play any other champ, I can't stomp nearly as hard (something that I enjoyed about playing league). Either it's cause I'm in a higher division and everyone else is getting better or heimer is ruining my mechanics on other champs.

Tldr: should I stay at a lower division and play a variety of champs and climb slowly or should I rocket myself upward playing only heiemrdiger (a champ that isn't even my favorite to play)?

Most people will play a variety of champs for fun most of the year, and during the last month or two will switch over to try-hard mode and play 1-3 champs.

The higher you go you are going to find winning with hiemmer is going to get harder and harder. At some point your abuse of the high floor champ is going to back fire and you will cap out. Then you are going to be in a place where you can not handle other champs at that level.

You can hit gold with hiem, which is fine but you are going to quickly find that you are not going to achieve much more. do what you want.
