My trusting nature was misussed

Yesterday after finishing a game of League, the enemy Nidalee was looking for someone to trade mystery skins with for fun. I know it goes against better judgement to trust a stranger, but I have high hopes for this community. I gifted her a skin and her friend and she said in return I'd get two, but instead she left the game lobby immediately and left me hanging. I had planned on using the RP to buy DJ Sona when it came out (I don't have the funds to replace the stolen RP), yet it seemed better to try and trust someone and maybe make a new friend out of it. I made the mistake of not reporting her after the game, but now I don't know if I can now. My question is can I still report them or get my RP back?

That's a low price to learn such a valuable lesson.

It's a mystery gift. By definition, it's something given with no expectation of anything in return. I know it sucks to feel like you've lost out, but it's not called a mystery transaction or mystery trade.

Regardless of good will or hopeful nature, that was dumb. Trusting strangers is masochism.

I'd try a support ticket, who knows what their policy is here. Bit of a grey area since post-game gifting is fairly new.

I met someone quite a while ago that suggested we give each other the skins each of us wanted. After talking about it a couple of times I decided that I'd do it. The thing is I went into it knowing that this person might not gift me back. That's what happened later he told me that he didn't have the money to gift me then and that I should delete him.

I thought about this for a bit and decided No I wasn't willing to do that, we continued to talk and a couple of months later he offered to buy me any skin I wanted. I told him that at that time I wasn't sure what I wanted since I bought the skin myself...to this day he will offer every other month...

I realize this isn't the same situation but I wanted to put out here that sometimes people can be honest and pay up. Unfortunately for you this isn't going to happen in this case. I am very glad you put this up in hopes of letting others beware of what might happen.

Only gift if you don't expect anything back. I wish I had some extra cash because if I did I swear to you I'd send you one of your choice, sorry that happened to you. Chin up for the next real nice person !

Maybe make a support ticket first? I don't know if Riot steps in in these kind of situations. I know most other MMO companies don't. Good luck.

riot did not make a trade function where you only get the skin if you also give one. It is a "gift" function. while the other guy is a scumbag, there is nothing you can do. you gifted him a skin. end of story. Riot is not responsible for you gifting something and then not getting something back.

In the future either only trade with friends or tell someone straight up that you have been burned before and that you will only trade after you received. That way you put the "trust" burden on the other party. Then its only up to you to not be the scumbag.

good luck dude! take this as a cheap RL lesson. its really was a cheap one! (less than 5 bucks) i made costlier mistakes!
