Thanks Riot!
Greetings Riot Gaming,
I write to you today just to say a quick thank-you. I haven't played this fantastic game for a few years now, I came back to find a new rank up system in place! I just wanted to express how thankful I am for this system, here are a few reasons why it is so great.
Earlier in the week I went on a bit of a winning streak, playing decently but placed in a low bracket (silver) so the games were not difficult. I won 5 games in a row and was placed into my series where I won the first and lost the second and third, both losses were to AFKs. So I go down to 80LP instantly win the next game because silver is hard and welcome back to series! So in this series there is someone a bit upset with his 5th pick at champion select and decided feeding is his best course of action. Whatever, a loss is a loss and after all I still have 1 game left in this series. During my third game of my second time in series I get a message saying PvP.Net is down, my third game is counted as a loss.
These are only a few examples of the level of r%%%%%ation with this rank up system. I can only think to myself, if there wasn't "series", if my rank was decided by my MMR or LP how much more balanced this would be. It also lead me to ask myself a few other questions, Why the fuck do I get the same punishment as the person that AFK/Abandoned ?
You may be saying to yourself well you can't just complain about everything and offer no solutions. I do have solutions however ! ! ! !
AFK/Abandon/Leaver - 3X LP loss to him and anyone that qued with him (duo). Everyone else on the team receives 0 LP change. The enemy team is also allowed to leave instantly with 0 LP change if said afk happened early enough in the game. (first 15mins maybe?) The duo partner must also receive the -3XLP so you don't create a boosting problem with friends leaving so their partner doesn't lose LP.
It took me about 2-3 mins to think of this solution to AFK/Leavers, there is probably 100 more and possibly better ideas out there, so why is it not fixed??
Kind Regards, Pootwah
