See, here's the thing. ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... How would making Gems more common give Riot more money?

One guy commented that he spent approximately $220 opening hextech boxes before he was able to unlock Hextech Annie. If it's that rare accomplishment you're after.. so be it. I don't see anything wrong with something being extremely rare and valuable.

RedMercy spent $500 on chests, took him 2 weeks to actually spend all the RP. It cost him $500 to unlock Hextech Annie. He had ~5-8 chests left by the time he got the fifth gemstone. That's over 300 chests he opened.

They are to rare. You can buy all the ultimate skins cheaper then a single gem skin. They should just make them legendary skins and get us to buy them that way. Total scam.

well i have a question guys i got one gemstone after opening 35 or 45 chests idk,anyway i changed it to a free chest and key but there was some other options that i didnt notice what are those other options its really on my nerv

I do believe they need to be more common. I have earned about 8 chests from masteries and have bought $100 worth of boxes. Got a few good skins but I have only 1 gemstone. I have bought some before as well. I believe I have opened around 80 chests, but have 1 gemstone... I'm definitely not a happy camper with Riot at the moment.

Ok, I'm deciding to rant about it for a few seconds. Not that I'm complaining but I opened next to a hundred chests and I didn'T get a SINGLE gemstone out of it (I'm definately complaining). It drove me to the point where I even wrote the support asking, if gemstones are still a thing. I mean, am I just the most unlucky person on this whole planet or is Riot just doing it's sick jokes with the community again?

In my opinion i fell as if riot should make an option to where the drop rate foes up if you purchase something of some sort like an IP boost...if you catch my drift summoners

I say no only because they've already been around this long. Maybe Riot could make some other sort of crafting material for the next skin that has a higher drop rate? I'd hate to screw over the people who have forked out hundreds of $$ for Hextech Annie or SS Vayne.

I've only ever spent around $30 on chests, and I've had friends gift me rp for the chests as well. Not counting the chests I get for free, I've opened about 50 chests and gotten 9 gemstones. I guess my odds are pretty high because my bf spent $40 on rp for chests and didn't get a single gemstone. Maybe the drop rate for everyone is different, thathat's what it looks like to me anyway

I think it's better that they're rare, that way I feel better about acomplishing the challenge of getting the skin. I only have two gems after like half a year I think, but thats only cause I haven't been on my grind. but I been playing a lot lately and I still haven't gotten any lately... Maybe they're a bit too rare, but it feels good after a lot of hard work accomplishing something.

I think gemstones should be as rare as you've mentioned because it increases the value of skins. Otherway they are going to be worthless like "Championship Riven 2016".[slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

I agree. Gemstone drop rates are currently a joke. I have spent wayyyyy too much money on opening those chests and the basically complete BS MSI capsule increased drop rate scam. Over $100 gets you 2 gemstones? That sounds fair. So at that rate, it would cost you over $500 for 10 gemstones, which is the cost of a single skin. So $500 for a skin? That doesnt even seem like a good way to make money from Riot's perspective. That just sounds like a good way to lose customers.

I think that league should become a game that you pay an upfront cost after lvl 10. Kind of like wow but without the monthly subscribtion. So if people just want to try it and decide they dont like it, no big deal it is free up to level 10. And then have skins be like overwatch. Where it is somewhat random but to be easier to get the chests since there are more skins. But to also have the option of buying the skins for the normal cost.

Gemstones are rendered worthless by how rare they are. Instead of having people waste a bunch of money on stupid chests that they dont want anyway... and still not get what they paid for to just be mad afterwards that they wasted the money. You should just put a price on the skin and thats it. Get what you pay for...? "You know, how every other store in the world works..." Dont even bother with Riot's customer service. They are literally THE most worthless group of individuals I have ever had the unfortunate experience of talking to. They basically just restate what you told them and say they are sorry they cant help. Good job.
