Hello, I am a returning league player, and the download speeds are driving me crazy. Speedtest.net, my download speed is 50 megabytes/s,which is what I payed for. On the League of Legends patcher, download speed... is .... barely 1 megabytes/s. It just finished step 1 and that took 5 hours. And now I have 2 GB left for step 2.
ISP's (and speedtest.net) measure in megabits per second, not megabytes per second. The conversion is 8:1 bit:byte, so your connection should max out at something like 6.25 megabytes per second. Having said that, yeah, 1 MB/s seems slow; though, the patcher kind of downloads and processes as it goes, it might be bottlenecked by hard drive or cpu activity or something. Could still be on their end, of course, but I'd see if anything on your system is misbehaving too.
If you actually have a 400 Mbit connection and knew everything I just said already, apologies :)
EDIT: More geek clarification, the notation difference is usually "Mbps" for megabits per second, and MB/s for megabytes per second. :D
something is restricting your dl, man. i have 30dl/5ul and it doesnt take 20 mins to dl the game.
