Queuing for Roles...

This is my first time even going on the forums and I'm not entirely sure how I would go about suggesting things but here is my idea... errr... my dads. haha.

I've played for around a year now and never thought of this. My dad watched me in Champ Select while my team argued over roles and asked me why Riot doesn't allow people to queue roles?

So you could queue up for a match and state what role you'd like to play and the matchmaking system would group you with people requesting the other roles.

I realize that this may flood the system with ADC requests and few Support requests BUT maybe it'd give people a reason to try other roles. Also, you could have people queue with ALL the positions that they'd like to play and build teams that way.

That's what Riot's developing now. It's called Team Builder. I assume the idea is they're going to build it into queuing for roles in draft modes.

As already said, thy already announced this. And the initial data suggests that the roles are distributed very closely. With I think jungle being lowest at 18% or at the same level as support - 19% and the highest being mid wih 22 or 23.

yeah, team builder does this to a certain extent. but it also has you queuing with a specific champion. at present team builder is going to be a separate queue but riot is looking in applying to draft. the issue with this is how to queue up for roles and then deal with the trolls. because they want to deal with a lot of the negative behavior, but when queuing up for roles if you get someone say queuing up as mid role, then selects mid and gets flamed at by his teammates for doing so. that's why team builder isn't coming out with a select role only function. at present, you queue up as a champion. you can select a role and lane if you want to, but you do not have to.

Yes, all the other posts are correct. Team Builder is a system where people can do exactly what you've proposed. Riot was hesitant to implement this for fear that it would solidify a set "meta," but they've left an option to queue for avant garde strategies
