Leave Buster is kinda strict :/

So I just got banned yesterday ( 11/29/14 ) for 3 days. Now I know what you're thinking "It's just 3 days. You can wait it out." Well this has happened a lot lately and it's kinda getting annoying. The reason I got banned was because my ping was unusually high (600) and the way I fix high pings is by restarting my computer, start up league, and try to catch up on the levels I missed. In all honesty, I think the leave buster should at least be active at a certain time in the game. For example, leave buster should be active at the 10 minute mark in game. I know leave buster is supposed to enforce players to stay in game and help teammates win the game, but in all honesty, leave buster might be a little TOO strict.

Not to be a jerk, OP, but this is exactly the kind of thing that Leave Buster is intended to do. I can't find the thread, but I did see a Rioter reply to a similar complaint before with "you need to check your internet before you jump into a game." Basically, the system isn't supposed to punish people if this happen once, but it sounds like this has happened "a lot lately," to quote you.

Players like me, who don't have regular internet problems, and who stop playing as soon as we notice any, get really frustrated when our game is ruined by someone who hasn't bothered to check. This is exactly the sort of player I want Leave Buster to ban. I know that's hard for you to hear because you aren't doing it intentionally, but the real issue is that is still ruins my game. It doesn't really matter if it's intentional.

It sounds like you need to do something about your internet service before you keep playing games with people. Especially in ranked, this is a serious problem, and I deeply appreciate Riot doing something about it. If I'm wrong in my assumptions, please reply. I'd love to have a discussion if you disagree, but if this is a regular occurrence for you, I don't think it's too strict at all.

If you're ping is spiking that high and is fixed by a reboot its probably caused by some software on your computer, like a virus/malware/trojan. You should try doing a scan and seeing if you can clear it out. If the problem was related to your internet itself (router, connection, etc) then rebooting your computer probably wouldn't fix this. Just FYI.

Accounts shouldn't be banned by Leaver Buster anymore. The new one just puts you in time penalty like 5, 10, 20 minutes before a game.
