I was jungling in a ranked game. Our top lane decided to leave lane for no reason, take my jungle, troll the team, then allow a Nasus to free farm. In my opinion, this is pure disrespect for the other players and deserves a ban. What exactly is deserving of a ban? Does Riot even care? I feel reporting someone is just a waste of time. Am I wrong?
They very rarely if ever ban people, but the only way anyone is going to get that punishment is to be consistently reported for it. Personally, I just blanket report everyone (except AFKs) for negative attitude. It's just as unlikely to get banned for it but also has the benefit of possibly getting him inflicted with a chat restriction.

No. Riot never care about players. Their eyes are filled with $$$. Somehow nb get a ban. The report button is just a toy that riot designed to relieve the anger of players, so we feel like "Yes! I reported him! He will pay for what he did!". Sometimes when u report a player who is duoing with another player, and u report him, u will be reported by two players at once, u know wt i mean?
Riot, please do something about people who's trolling i recently play with one of them and his/her name is "Prestiged Bronze" he/she played Elise and inting, running down mid and die, feeding my laner enemy that's why i lost my lane and not be able to get a kill this is RANKED btw and people who played ranked should be play like adults not like 12 yrs old thinking like him/her can you guys in RIOT teach him/her a lesson please and thank you..... It's somewhat automated, and not perfect. It's supposed to be that kind of system where if you have on bad game you're not gonna get permabanned, more like it takes chronic behavior to be appropriately punished (and after the first punishment, the ice gets thinner).
They do care, it's just that they care a bit too much and come across as a bit more forgiving than they should be.
Last time I reported someone a few minutes later it said I and other anonymous people banned this guy for 2 weeks for harassment*[zombie-brand-clap]*

one in the enemy team is dupe me all the time he told me useless because i lost my lane and all of them start to flame me some of them tell me noob kid useless and continue to flame me all the time and when i told them to play 1vs1 the was scared and not answer they wanted 1vs1 in this game when they went fed and i was useless i really know that with the flame which they do on me and the dupe they must to get permantly ban
