Live Spectator Mode (Friends List ONLY)

I think it would be cool if you could spectate your friend's matches live, I would really like to talk to my friends and talk about what is currently happening in their match without a delay so we can all get excited about outplays and laugh at funny misplays together at the same time. I know it has a 5 minute delay to prevent ghosting, but my solution to this problem is locking the fog of war in spectate mode to the team that the friend you are spectating is on. This will make it that you can only see the enemy team if they are within vision of your friend's team.

If this were to be implemented I suggest add this spectator mode in addition the original and not replacing it because there will be people who prefer the current spectator mode.

Maybe if the camera was locked onto their champion with no hud. Because having someone glue their eyes on the minimap would be just as good as someone ghosting.

yea that is also an idea because I really just want to see what my friends are doing live, and i usually spectate their games while waiting to queue up with them. i would like to see it live.

I doubt this will be ever implemented due to the potential abuse. However, if you want to do this with your friends you can by streaming via twitch or hitbox or by sharing screen with them in a program like Skype.

not everybody's PC can handle playing the game ans streaming/ screen sharing simultaneously

True, but it's the only realistic option for this.

OBS is fairly light weight, and I've had good results with it, so that's what I'd recommend.

This is basically adding a coach. If they did this the cries from the general population would be deafening. Imagine the ranting about dynamic que being a thing on top of them having a 6th person coaching.

so what is the difference with a friend beside me watching me play and a friend spectating me in the manner I explain in the post?

A friend looking over your shoulder cant pan the map like you can in spectator.

and how will panning the map help if u cant see into the enemy fog of war?

they'd be able to do things like see an enemy's buffs if they got a glimpse of them a lot easier than what a player could do. How hard would it be for them to spectate, see an enemy team member's name, and then go spectate them? Its too exploitable.

I can do this by going over my friends house and helping him in person, can the general populace stop that? No, so it can be implemented. no matter what you do there will always be those that will complain regardless, a couple days ago riot gave away free skins and there were some people that were complaining about getting something for FREE so yeah. Its an interesting idea

I wish we lived in a world where people were nice and wouldn't abuse this, but sadly there are many many people who would cheat using this, so I'll be on the no side of this one sorry.

Call out things you missed, such as a pink ward being placed, someone sneaking into a bush, stuff like that. The spectator client also tends to show stuff you wouldn't be able to see in game through the fog of war, such as spell particles while taking Baron, so there could be things like that giving information away as well.
