My team (Orangotango) and I played against golds and platinums in our placement matches and we won 4/5 games. The 5th being against diamond/plat range players. My question is even though we beat golds and plats, why was my team placed in Bronze 1?

mmr. You don't see it but it determines everything. Also the first few games are the ones that matter.
