Why are DotA2 players missing so many farming?

I haven't played DotA2 ever, but I watched DotA2 International 2015 Final. The best professional players in DotA2 got ganked pretty easy and missed a lot of farming compared to LCS Worlds players, although it seems farming in DotA2 is worth much more (40 per minion, 300 per champion) than LoL (20 per minion, 300 per champion).

Anybody ever played DotA2 can explain this?

There isn't really a lot of objectives in Dota. There are these small things that spawn between top-mid and mid-bot called runes. They give you a buff and one of those buffs give you gold. There isn't even a lot of objectives, there are towers that you can get but the enemy team has the ability to make them invincible for a period of time. Items are also cost more than items on League.

Well in lol 6 minions spawn, in dota 4 creeps spawn, so 25% less per spawn.

Farming is much harder in DotA due to turn rates, and you can actually kill allied minions in order to deny your opponent farm. The main difference is that League is fairly balanced between neutral/minion gold income and kill income, where as DotA is far more heavily tilted toward kills.

I'm not great at DotA, so take my words with a grain of salt.

Depends where you see the gank occur. In the last patch you mostly saw early ganks occur in mid trying to keep the opponent from getting a good start. There are also more tools for ganking, runes/smoke/long range CC and lack of flash. Also, the reward for ganking is far higher than in LoL.

Early last hitting is hard. You can deny, your base dmg is low, you fight in uneven lanes, and you normally can't use skills to farm (right click only). There are only a handful of heroes that can spam spells to get last hits.
