Report system abuse

its a horrible desighn actually. it lets trolls especially low trolls put marks on other players accounts and names.. and you know that its more like 20% of all reports are even for a valid reason and even than many of those did not call for a report. I guess the real problem is in the game design if they need to have some wierd system that forces people to stay with horrible people on their team. Not bad players mind you..bad people.. Also Why would you not let us chat on the VS window before games.. its the longest waste of time in this game..besides posting on the forums about issues

Players who do so enough not only have their report weight reduced to zero, but they can - and have - received bans for it.

All-in-all, the system is such that while false reports may happen, abuse of the report system should not affect other players in any way that valid reports would not. It is, I feel, a pretty clever bit of design.

Yes people are most definitely abusing the report system... It's getting to be a joke!

I like how Riot claims to review all reports made against everybody and that they take the correct action against players, yet I've been banned for literally nothing. I've been in at least 10 games now where I haven't said a word all game and I've been giving a warning for my behavior(some troll reported me, and likely everyone else).

There's no review step for the in-client pop-up warnings. They're fully automated, being triggered by "spikes" in reports against your account.

I'd be interested in seeing your evidence regarding a false ban, though. I haven't seen one yet that wasn't corrected, and I'd love to see some solid data contradicting that.

Clearly Riot doesn't review all reports made against players, they just ban people once they see that someone has been reported enough times(right or wrong report, it doesn't matter to them, just the number of reports made against you).

Well, no, obviously they don't review every single report. But they can and do review a case/account when that account has been reported enough.

I don't really understand why people seem to think that the system must either involve a review of every single report ever issued or ban based exclusively on the flat number of reports. Why can't it be a system that combines those two?

I've asked most people on my friend's list if they've had people report them for no reason as well, and almost every single one of them has had this happen to them as well! I know I'm not the only victim of false reporting and Riot being lazy. This needs to be handled Riot, quit being useless.

Pretty much everyone gets reported at some point. Most players are reported in approximately 3-5% of their games. A case is only built when a player is reported in 12-25% of their games - some 4 or 5 times as much.

Anyway, no. Their behavior does not excuse yours, and a manual review will not result in a different judgement if you were being toxic back to them. Premade reports do not stack; a 4-man premade reporting you will only look like one report to the system, and even if they are all solo you will not get punished unless you have been toxic frequently or extremely (or both).

I suggest posting your reform card so we can look over it.
