Ranked placements

Do you guys think going 7-3 and 6-4 in your ranked placements games while carrying most games(had an overall 4kda) yet being placed in Bronze 5 in both is fair? I just don't feel like grinding all the way through bronze when I shouldn't have been placed there in the first place.

Plat 5 last season. Won 6/10, with the last game winning a 4v5. Got placed into silver 1. I considered quitting the game because of this. Doesn't seem fair to me either. How does this system work? What are the other deciding criteria?
