Having ranked to bronze 3, I found myself with no L.P. points. So after playing a ranked match and losing, I find myself with -3 L.P. points....

You only get -3 after you dodge while at 0 lp.

-3 LP only happens when you dodged a game

You dodged a game while you were sitting at 0lp. is farily common. If you win your next game and win for example 20lp you will be sitting at 17lp. If you lose you will get demoted, if you are at the end of tier and lose you will end up at negative points (if you lose 16lp you will be sitting a -19lp)
