Is that it for the Shurima lore?

Was it just the two videos, or did I miss something?

I sort of expected a lot more, I dunno, words? Comics? Something? There weren't even any sidestories about Amumu or Skarner. The video was very nice yes, but it was just a narrated summary. Where are all the details?

If anyone can link me to whatever content I seem to have missed I'd appreciate it.

I expected so much more, but alas, it is the lore team who never delivered. They started really good with those two videos, and I expected epilogue to be something epic. Yet, we've got one poorly written paragraph, giving us almost no new info, and the worst part is what they have done with Sivir. Who would want to be a mercenary when you can be a freaking Empress of the whole Shurima. I mean come on, seriously? That dude just saved your life, brought you back from the dead sort to speak and you want to be a mercenary again? Sorry but that just doesn't seem right. I was really looking forward to this new lore, their re-imagining, but in the end, they didn't improve at all. They still don't know how to write a good story, they think that leaving it open is good. Well no, it is not good every single time with every single event that you make. Shadow Isles - Not revealing who The Ruined King was, what happened to The Shadow Isles, roles of champions associated with it... Freljord - completely unresolved. Shurima - let's establish a great story and then ruin it completely by some epilogue which my 9 year old sister could write better. Once again, you've failed, "lore" team. Just hire me and let me show you how it is done. This is not the way to earn our trust.

You have not missed any content that I'm aware of. Welcome to the new definition of lore.

Yeah, this event seemed a little lackluster regarding the story aspect.

I feel the Shurima event hasn't progressed; we're still basically in the exact same spot we started this off on. I think the main flaw in the lore here is that we already knew, or could at least deduce, everything that would come from the beginning. As soon as Azir was revealed, the lore team showed their hand by saying "a long lost emperor and his dominion have resurfaced". There were no surprises, no feeling of progression, because nothing was expanded upon after that first step. They could've gone into what effects this arising had on the rest of the world and developed their characters further, but no, everything has stayed stagnant since.

The videos were cool, but they just felt like a description. I seriously thought they were just build-up for the Shurima event and that we would see what happens afterwards, and needless to say, I was really disappointed where there were only two of them to explain everything that's going on here. All the things in the video just seemed to spontaneously happen without rhyme of or reason as well. It didn't feel like a story or even a single chapter. It all just felt like prologue that should've been used to create hype for the actual event. Plus, as much as Nasus sounds cool, his storytelling felt...amateurish. If you actually listen to the words themselves separate from the voice and visuals, it's mostly simplistic sentences and repetition. One of the number one rules of storytelling is "show don't tell". The videos were composed of things like "Sivir is stunned!" or "The ancient weapon is a key." which is just boring exposition that, personally, took me out of the moment. It would've been much stronger if they actually showed the impact it had on the characters, whether through visual or audio. The second half of the second video was the strongest, as it was primarily powerful visuals that got me pumped...just as this event was ending. Shurima rises once more! Too bad we don't see how that matters in anyway.

Riot.

Where's my PoV of Xerath during the whole Ascension debacle with Azir?

I want to strongly emphasize that this event was super cool overall, and I really liked the two videos and what appeared to be a huge build up to an epic confrontation of some kind. So thank you!

However, like many other people, I want to register that I'm also disappointed in what I thought was going to be the 3rd and final chapter of the event. What's the deal with these super short paragraphs and background stories.

The thing is, not much happened. You can summarize it with a few sentences.

Sivir and Cassiopea find a tomb. Cassiopea opens the tomb by stabbing Sivir. The inhabitants of the tomb escape and Cassiopea is cursed. Sivir's blood awakens Azir. Azir saves Sivir, does a magic trick to become powerful then rebuilds Shurima.

What about Amumu? What about Skarner? Ezreal? Zilean? Rammus? How are they all connected to what we saw? We'll never know because it's all 'wrapped up' now.

I have to say I was hoping for more... BUT it is a major leap forward compared to how they left the freljord event. Who knows maybe, just maybe, another event will happen soon that gives more clarity and continues the story in a new chapter.
