Are Automated Farming Bots A Thing?

I'm in a 3v3 Co-op v AI game right now.

In champ select, the other two players were already locked in by the time I got to the room. Their screennames are two generic words followed by two numbers, typical of spam emails and such. They both have Ghost/Heal.

Game starts, they get no items, but at the same time they simultaneously walk straight toward the enemy base and die to the turret before minions spawn. This happens all game where they will both walk straight toward enemy base and die, not at all like they are actively being controlled by real people.

It really seems like these were user bots farming ip/xp automatically. Can anyone confirm this is a thing, and tell me how I can send a report/support ticket type thing with their screennames and such?

They are bots. Riot is trying to stem the flow of the bots but it might be a while before we see a visible decline in their presence.

Yes. They either farm IP or XP or both. They work quite well too. I'd do it if my MMR wasn't so damn high in every queue to actually get me reported every game.

Add me in game and please document the account names, I have a comprehensive list being made to keep things organized for Riot and am already in touch with a member of support for this.

lets stomp these things out!

also, Report the bots immediately (send me the names still) I report them under griefing "bots"

Just queued up into a 3v3 Co-op v AI game with two of them, so I left champ select instead of wasting a game watching them walk and die repeatedly.

What pisses me off though is that I'm penalized while they just probably automatically requeued being the programmed bots that they are.

Come on Riot, with how effective reporting is supposed to be, how is there still an incentive to use these bot accounts.
