Playing that ap xin vs garen

To be fair, that Garen had a god-awful build early on for his opponent.

Garen has two lane strategies he has to employ; either outsustain or drive out his lane opponents. AP Xin is someone that Garen needs to drive out, so he needs to play aggressive and go for early damage (I like Black Cleaver for that). Since AP Xin has in-fight sustain while Garen has out-of-fight sustain (And really he only has that post-11), the idea of tanking Xin is a fundamentally flawed one that just further increases AP Xin's power against him.

As well, this Garen did a generally poor job at engaging and trading. Again, he needed to play more aggressive and zone Xin out away from the minions to prevent any kind of healing for Xin.
