What's the point of hiding the enemies borders if they have rank icons?
When the decision was made, there were no icons in the loading screen.
Looking at it now, it just seems silly.

because using a summoner icon is a player choice and having a border isnt
Some don't use icons. If the whole team is plat, but they don't use the icons, then you won't know they're plat unless you lolnexus the game.
I don't use my icon most of the time (today is probably first time in a few months) because people give me shit if I ever do bad in a normals. Sometimes I wish I could turn borders off too so low ranks could shut up already and I could try new champs/builds in peace.
