TeslaCrypt Targeting LeagueOfLegends
Hey guys, I'm not sure how many folks will see this, but I feel it's a duty of mine to inform who I can about a new strain of RansomeWare that is specifically targeting video game related files. The virus is called TeslaCrypt, and at the moment there isn't a fix for it. There's a lot of hub bub right now that this may be made by the same makers of a similar piece of RansomeWare called CryptoWall, but we don't know for sure.
What we do know is that League of Legends saved replays and Videos are being targeted as a part of the infection. The virus also targets downloaded Steam games, World of Warcraft, and various others games. In some cases, this may seem a bit ineffective, since with most of these infection, you can uninstall the encrypted files, and re-install and be ok, but not everything is safe (read as: your recorded games, downloaded skins, etc).
Anyways, just thought I'd post this here, as I haven't seen word of it here yet. Thanks for your time!
