I recently received a message stating the following:
"Summoners! This year we celebrate the eight anniversary of the creation of Riot games, which is why we give 400 RP every player who sends this meesage to 10 other players.Good Luck"
What is this supposed to mean? Is it some sort of scam or prank? Has anybody else received this message?

Yes, it is clearly a scam.
if you send this so someone they are most likely gonna report you for trying to scam them
For starters, Riot Games was established in 2006, so they're already well over 8 years old now.
Also, if Riot were to give something away for a company milestone, it would be automatically given to everybody.
Just as a tip for future reference, if there's ever anything that tells you that you can get free RP, don't believe it unless it's from the official league website. Some websites may try to pretend to be the official site, so be sure to double check web addresses.
