What's a Yorick?

I'm an avid Yorick player [ lv7 :^) ]who actually enjoys the fact that ppl either don't play him or don't know what he does. I just like going against the meta like that. However, there's a lot of talk about a rework and I'm wondering: should I be worried? Another champ that was under-used like yorick was Urgot . However his update was more of a buff to keep him relevant in games. On the other hand you have champs like Taric who's entire playstyle changed and made me stop using him. So is Yorick gonna just get buffed and called broken like ryze, or (not fundamentally but essentially) changed like taric? What do you guys think?[zombie-brand-mindblown]

I'm pretty sure they're keeping him a top lane bruiser who is a necromancer. They've stated at the very least that those are some things the consider core to his personality and identity. As to his abilities, I actually think that's where the most change will occur, since they're incredibly bland. I'm hoping he gets a minion conjuring ability like Malzahar's Voidling spell that self replicates, with the other spells being abilities that maybe modify the minions' behavior or type, similar to how Zyra operates.

Depends what you find to be core on him. Could you list that and I can try to compare it to what I've read from other mains?

I trust the narrative team to keep champ up tied to the core of the champion, and if your core view of him aligns with what they've found by researching him and asking mains etc. what they care about then I'm sure you'll like the rework.

The problem is yorik. Plain and simple. His ult is just to strong. It may seem poor on paper, but the gold value of it is unlimted. They cant buff him. Lowerin his mana costs would make it so he could bully forever. Increasing his damage would cause building him full tank but still killing people. Touching his healing would cause him to become a sustain monster but be super underpowered if you cut his sustain. You cant really do much with a champ that has so much utility packed into one ability.

I've heard rumours that he's gonna be a juggernaut, which is sort of what he is already. That's some decent news at least - I was afraid they were gonna turn him into some squishy anime boy mage for the cosplay and fan art scene instead of a badass grumpy zombie :P

Every major rework so far has completely changed how the champion feels to play while trying to get closer to what riot thinks it should be like. If you enjoy playing him now, you probably won't post-rework, in my experience from past reworks.
