Dodged Queue

So I as about to get in a game, were in champ select and all. 30 seconds left and our top switches to taric and takes teleprot revive and says he'll troll. Now ive seem someone do this before and its not fun at all.

So i dodged.

Its just lame coz ur in a pinch.

Either you quit, get punished by having to wait ( and then potentially suffer other punishments dude to fall off from queue dodging) OR you stay in the game and waste 20 min of ur time. Queue dodging is less time intensive but it just sucks that I get punished for someone elses ridiculously stupid (potential, and likely) behavior.

Is there any solution to this?

What have you guys done in situations similar?

What is the proper LoL etiquette?

PEACE and thanks for feedback!

It's a lose-lose, we've all been there at least once. At the very least I can say I sympathize.

As far as what to do, wait until the very last second before dodging. A lot of the trolls I've run into only do it because they didn't like the team comp or a specific player and bait someone else do dodge. Play chicken hard enough and they may dodge anyway, or less ideally someone else does.

I've actually dodged in these situations early if I'm in the mid-range of LP to tank the loss because I'm not near promos and can afford it at the same time.

Good on you for coming and asking though, I'd love to see more of this and less raging. Keep on keeping on and good luck!

how exactly do you know it would have a been a waste though? you never played it through so you never know! now im not siding with the person who was trolling, but to the system it makes you look like the bad guy because you left. if you let the scenario play out you could have just reported him after the game, take screenshots to back up your claim, and just report the person. with you leaving you just make it out so that this person continues to do this and at a much faster rate because they dont get hit with the wait queue!

I absolutely hate having to dodge a game. I figure though that potentially losing 15-22 LP over a game is much less effective than taking the 3 (or 10 if you're having a really bad day) LP loss and gaining some hope.

That being said, I don't care which champions are picked by who, and for what role/reason. I'd prefer the urgot jungle that knows how to urgot than the urgot that gets coerced into picking a champion they're not familiar with, like riven because she's "OP", but that's besides the point.

The only two reasons I would have to dodge are:

  1. More than 2 players on the team are being toxic. That puts me in a crappy "we're gonna lose" mood and probably others too. Teamwork goes down the drain.
  2. Someone is intentionally falling in the ranks or trolling by purposely going afk or whatever they threaten to do, and is unwilling to listen to any reason.

I've hoped Riot would come up with a method to stop this happening but I don't think there's realistically a way to monitor it. If I get in trouble for dodging a game, fine by me, I was being selfish and putting the other 9 players back in a queue for the sake of not giving a free win/loss potentially.
