City State vs. City State

Why doesn't Riot make another event where the Cities of Runeterra duke it out in another league of legends match? When I first joined, it was at the end of season 1 and after some thorough reading, I learned of the Ionia versus Noxus game. As a very avid fan of the lore this was fun to think about and as a gamer me and my friends like to have fun and play matchmaking with themed teams. This seems like it would be an interesting thing to follow especially after Sion rework, the "undead juggernaut" and former general of Noxus coming back and season 4 coming to a close. If anything I was thinking maybe a new game mode where the teams vote on a city state to choose and then proceed to pick from a pool of preset champions to fight against the other team. All-in-all, I would just like to see another competition where Riot incorporates lore into the battlefield and shapes the future of the game and Runeterra.

tl;dr: I think another themed match between the cities of Runeterra needs to have been a long time coming.

Because City States can't own more than one city. When they capture a city they automatically raze it to the ground.

That doesn't make for very exciting story lines.
