Zed in high elo?

I used to main this guy in season 5, however I didn't consider to use him once I reach high elo in NA. My question is why is Zed a viable pick with a good win rate in the high elo rank of Korey (diamond - challenger)? Meanwhile in Na he's almost never seen past Diamond.
